He is fun to watch. He has helped his stock almost as much as anyone in the tourney. Dorsey is having a Malachi Richardson type run. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Groce is a nice choice. Would give him the perfect job to get a major gig again. If he goes mid major he has to build it. Here he comes in and if we have success he is back in power 5. If not he is probably a high paid assistant. Win win. Specially if he brings Tilmon with him and opens the La Lumiere pipeline back up. Shane Hiermann should get a call but honestly I want him to pick the guys that fit his model more than anything and one guy that is an elite recruiter. Dont care where they come from. If it is an IU guy I want Aj Guyton or Jared Jeffries. Jeffries would be a home run hire. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Would like to know what it said. Kostas has HUGE potential. Not just because of who his brother is either. Bring him with ya Archie. Heck pack his bags for him. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

The Zags have been a power for awhile. We all know that man. Northern Iowa has had a cpl years but not like Dayton with Archie. Butler was good in the horizon but not as good as they are now. SDSU is showing that it is very hard to be consistent in being a good mid major. They have had success yes but they only help Archie's case in him being able to only get better. Being 38 was huge for me too. I dont want another coaching search unless it is Archie taking the Lakers job lol. We should all want that. If we want him to fail do we really want 4 coaches in 20 years? We need stability more than anything. There are risk with him and it is fine to question the job he has done or can do but to compare what a guy with resources like Crean has had compared to Archie at Dayton annoys the crap out of me. Lets compare Archies IU career to Crean when it gets a few years down the road and then I will take a hard look. Till then welcome the guy and hope for the best. I know I will. I know everyone was set on Billy D but no one with real credibility EVER said it was a real shot. PTI said he should take it not that he was interested. Dakich said to make a call to him nothing more. We did reach out and he declined. Our only half decent shot at him was 2 years ago. So if your gonna blame Glass for not landing him blame him 2 years ago not today. Stevens is 2-3 years away from dominating the East the way LeBron has. He wasnt coming and is expecting a raise after this year. Now that those two are out of the way name one guy who could have gotten that didnt have a question mark by his name. Tony Bennett: can he continue to land elite recruits and only has a 3 star coming in this year so looks like a 1 year thing. Can he get past his tourney demons? Can he provide enough offense to win a title? Steve Alford: 22 years not one season of past the sweet sixteen even with 3 future lotto picks. Not even gonna waste my energy on character. Gregg Marshall: Serious personality issues. Crazy wife. Can he compete against higher level opponents? Can he recruit at a high level? Chris Collins: would he take a move inside conference? Would he even want to move on knowing in a few years him or White and even Woj are the only guys probably getting an interview from Duke besides maybe Brad Stevens highly doubt that but still. Can he be consistent? Can he get past the first weekend? Sean Miller: just signed an extension and a top 5 class at Zona. Can he make a final four? Can he go a whole game without ruining a suit? Dane Fife: is he even ready? Next Mike White: would he even answer a phone call? If so why do we think we can get him closer to a title than UF seeing how they have won more titles than us in 30 years? Will he wait for Duke or the NBA to call even if he came here? If daddy wants him at Duke he is on the first flight. His defense is phenomenal but can he be consistent enough to be contenders year in and year out? Can he recruit 5 stars? Everyone of our choices came with risk and yes Archie has some too but at least with him you know there is so much more he can do being only 38. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

Listen everyone on here knows I really like Mike White and I follow UF basketball almost half as much as IU and that is saying a lot. Mike White is NOT leaving UF for anything other than the NBA or Duke. When he started out his dad had big time college teams ready to offer him an assistant spot because of daddy. Mike turned them down and wanted his own path. Even went as far as saying I will make it and once I do I dont want my daddy helping me being a barrier for people to use. He loves Florida and looks at it in the same light as pretty much any program because of the success Billy D was able to have there. It was a stretch to think he would have came here seriously. I listened to quite a few podcast once the SEC tourney started and once the tourney got underway. Guys down there expect Florida to give him an extension after this year and it is looking like it will be very big numbers. Guys said he was even willing to put a clause in the contract that he didnt leave unless it was Duke or NBA to make his buyout higher if they do go the extension route which looks 100% likely. I have no doubt in 5 years he will be one of the best coaches and people are gonna say we should have gotten him but I dont believe he was going anywhere. We could have thrown 5 mill at him and got him probably but that is taking a huge risk. Even I know he could flame out. Doubt it happens but he doesnt have the track record yet to know for a fact he wont. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Yup didnt look the least bit interested in playing. Had games every now and then but was so consistent to start then fell off. Could be cause of Newkirks emergence but he was still the better player so who knows. Kostas will be fun to watch to see what happens. I think he comes here if allowed. Also depends on UD's hire. I am very excited to see Archies staff. I would like to see a IU guy and an Indiana guy with connections. The rest he can do what he wants with. We need to start being a program teams look at for assistants. Not UIC lol. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Evan Daniels said the deal is supposed to be around 3 mill not 4 mill. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Lol defense will always be brought up w him. He actually improved in that aspect last year. Still barely considered a defender but your 100% right about him being a guy teams had to adjust their plan too. Those guys dont come in waves off the bus. He played awesome down the stretch too. I agree with Green too. He looked like someone who could take a HUGE step next year. Green & Davis are gonna be on a lot of breakout list. Think Rojo probably leaves with all the news surrounding him lately but we can withstand it if he does. I would like Kostas to come here with Archie as well as Smith a hopefully another PG and big man. I think RoJo, Gelon, Priller & OG are gone. Archie knows he will be pressured to win instantly so he will want to bring in a few guys. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Calipari on the hire: "If I were hiring a coach or to replace me it would be Archie." Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Lol. Why would you want him gone. Every team has players like him. The leading scorer is usually selfish at times. But when the game is on the line they can go get ya a bucket. JBJ has done good without any real plays ran for him and without screens to free him up. I would love to see what he can do under Archie. It is going to be an interesting couple of weeks seeing whose coming in and whose going out. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Quick note people that think comparing Crean here is okay with comparing Archie at Dayton. He took the IU job because it was a step up. If it was the exact same he doesnt leave Dayton for a more pressured job. Crean had a hell of a lot more advantages and bigger advantages to use to his advantage at IU than Archie could use at Dayton. Success at a mid major is harder than it looks and we seem to think. Gonzaga, George Mason, WSU, VCU, Butler and Dayton are the only true mid majors with legit tourney success. You can probably throw the Zags off that list so that means 4 schools. At a program like IU the expectation is to win and compete for B1G titles and tourney runs each year. At Dayton their expectation is be good and make the tourney and be happy. So for the expectations that Archie had he did amazing. 4 straight trips and an Elite Eight spot. What do we expect Dayton to do? Constantly compete for Sweet Sixteens lol? Anytime any coach makes the switch he is making you expect him to be as good as he was and better because they get more money to spend recruiting, a bigger fan base, better facilities and when it comes to elite jobs like IU you expect the brand to help a lot as well. Yes you compete with better teams. I cant believe people are actually comparing what Dayton has done compared to IU. If you are gonna do anything compare him to the other true mid majors and he is far and away the best choice. Zags dont count and Butler and Xavier are in the Big East. VCU and WSU are the only schools that are on the level. WSU has a lot more resources than Dayton as well. WSU has KU and Missouri to deal with in recruiting. Dayton has Xavier, OSU, Cincy, IU, Butler, Purdue and ND in the area. If you don't like the hire your entitled to your own opinions but please lets not be realistically expecting Dayton to have better success than IU. That is a truly stupid argument in my book. Anything else is validated. He is 38 too. He is still very young and growing as a coach. Even if he was a finished product he still would be a good fit here. But the potential to bring us back to elite is what excites me. Carry on. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

Just saw the UK radio stations had all pin pointed Archie as their guy once Cal was done within 5 years. Also said it was him or Marshall but age difference would make Archie the favorite. All we did was get him sooner. He may flame out but I dont believe he will. I am excited to say he is our coach. Like I said yesterday if we were taking a risk. Then Mike White, Archie and maybe Chris Collins were home run hires. If you truly want this guy to fail then your not an IU fan. Sorry but its true. Billy wasnt coming. We all thought maybe but the smoke screens of Billy never had legs sides optimist IU fans. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

I will say this one time. I love this hire and I know a lot of others do too. If you dont like it I get it but if you love IU you need to support him. If you cant do that its gonna be a long time before he is gonna be fired. 7 year deal. Welcome to Bloomington Archie. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

If we mention Xavier losing their best player gotta mention Florida losing their best player too. I give both programs monster shout outs. Frank Martin has now took 2 football schools to Elite Eights. UK, KU, UNC continue their dominance. I got KU vs UNC on one side and Xavier vs UF on the other with UF vs KU in the title game and KU winning. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
