I get the Smith part, but see Bowen as a 2/3 and Smith as a 3/4 so there would be plenty of minutes for both. Bowen wants to be a one and done very badly as well so wouldnt have much affect IMO. Still worth mentioning tho. Good point. I think he ends up at Depaul or Creighton. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I am. U of L is consistently good and Pitino is still one of the best coaches. It would help if he announced this his last year lol. Still think we are in it till the end for this kid with Archie making up more and more ground the longer this recruitment goes on. Him & Garland would be a dream scenario and seems actually very possible. Sets up for Trendon & Keion in 19' with hopefully James Wiseman. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Another weird thing with all the new schools recruiting Brian Bowen or at least reaching out shouldn't we? He is from Indiana and could take an unofficial. I know he didn't like the previous staff one bit but he would be able to stay home and likely be our best player besides maybe DD or possibly RoJo. Shots would be his. Depaul is the only school that offers more shots than us but we have the exposure needed as well. Just thinking out loud I guess. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

I like Carter as well but fell Moretti gives us an option this year and beyond. He won't affect Garland from coming so I am all for it. Carey is good enough to where he will get minutes as well and same for Phinisee. Best case for us and the kid he is the real deal and stays a year maybe two. Worse case he is a solid option for 4 years that won't deter the big name kids from coming here. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twittertuesday-romeo-langford-nd-s-class-and-indiana-targets Link to the article. Like stated above, U of L is the favorite with IU right behind. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Watched Vijay quite a bit in HS. Him & Reggie Jones who is a member for WMU now. Vijay is one of the best walk ons in the country and I truly believe he will be a good addition. I don't expect him to be a star or anywhere near his brother, but I could see him having a decent career here. Now we have to be the leaders for Jalen which is a great reason even if it was the only reason to bring in Vijay. Jalen will be a 5 star player when it comes time. UK will be our only threat to him cause of James Sr. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
My comparison for Garland has been Kyrie for a little while now. All of us know how Kyrie was ours till Crean ruined it, so this would be even better for me. Huge fan of both. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2018) PF Race Thompson to IU
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Thompson is the big we end up with IMO. Him along with Garland or Romeo or even both with Phinisee or Carey as well as another wing is the best case scenarios for us. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
James Blackmon Jr - KSK Basket (Turkey)
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to Dalton26's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
I truly believe JBJ finds his way onto a team next year. He will probably go back and forth the league and d league but he will have his shot. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
I think Devonte ends up starting regardless. Archie likes having a guard to pressure the ball and set the tempo for his defense. Green is the one that fits that bill. Green, Newkirk, RoJo, Hartman & Davis start with Juwan the 6th man. CuJo and J Smooth are the other 2 regular minute guys. Clifton & Al get some minutes as well. Just my opinion though. Yes he did, but to have his spot someone else was gonna have to leave that had a spot on the team. SOMEONE had to go. The NCAA wasn't just gonna give us an extra scholly. It was either him or RoJo or someone transfer which this late hardly happens but does, so that could have been a scenario but still. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Haven't been on here much lately, but the JBJ news was expected. I was at open gym in Marion the other day and during Summer the Blackmons along with Zach Randolph always hold an event for the community, so the talk was JBJ felt like he didn't have a choice. The scholarship numbers hurt him and TB. Not saying Archie forced either of them, but once all 3 commits came back in the fold, this was the expected outcome, specially when Hartman decided to play another year. Point being is, let's not attack a kid who has been through as much as he has. The injuries alone would have been enough to make a kid question whether to play the game anymore, but JBJ always came back and never gave up. He is also a month away from actually graduating in 3 years. He never got in trouble off the court and always represented us well on it. His defense wasn't the greatest, but it was fun to watch him on offense. The critics who questioned his defense also never took in consideration what ACL injury(s) do to lateral quickness. His prospects of playing in the NBA aren't the greatest, but his ability to score will put him on someones radar and once he is, it will be up to him to make the most of it. Whether it is the D League or Euro, he made this decision because he believes in himself and I can't fault him for that. I hope he finds a way on a NBA bench and so should any IU fan. Like I said at the beginning of this, someone was gonna have to go and none of us know what happened behind the scenes, but at least now we know who will be here next year and who won't. I expect RoJo to announce soon he is coming back. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Lol maybe just a little then. Honestly though the Pacers may have a better chance at the playoffs this year with the rosters at their current state, but by the time the season kicks off they will be pretty close and the Sixers will have a lot more to look forward too. Should make it an easy call for anyone who knows the NBA. I really like the Suns future as well. Chriss and Booker with Bledsoe and another lotto pick. Anyone that says different is a homer!! This time next year the Pacers will have Myles Turner, which is great but that is it!! Regardless of if Simmons played he was the number 1 pick!! His injury wasn't serious and the Sixers held him out on purpose or he would have came back in January. Embiid could have came back too, but why was it needed? They weren't making the playoffs. I was glad they just kept him out. He comes back with no minutes restriction next year. Dario Saric is not overrated lol that is the dumbest thing I have heard. Watch his tape or a Sixers game. He kept them in a ton of games even when we shut Embiid, Simmons, Covington and Okafor down. Richaun Holmes has upside as well. McConnell will be a good to great backup pg too. Add 4 lottery picks the next two years alone and that gives them a brighter future than the Pacers. I am by no means a homer either. This time last year, I trusted the process lol, but wasn't sure we would get #1 or Saric to come over. Only thing that I ain't happy about is Noel being traded, but Justin Anderson has potential to be a solid bench player, so at least we got something. TWC is a good defender. Furkan is still overseas and Tiago Splitter will be there as a bench big next year. Like I stated at midseason about the Pacers as their flaws, they settle for average. Trade draft picks for average players and pay them a ton of money to stay competitive. Now they have no potential players that can be even starters in the NBA. Like I said Myles Turner and PG are it. Teague and Thad who I watched with the Sixers for years and is not a building piece aren't taking them to the next step. They need to get a GM that knows what he is doing and try like heck to get some players and soon or PG is gone. BTW saying you would take KAT over Embiid hurts no Sixers fans feelings knowing if the T Wolves said hey what will you give us for him, the answer would be almost anyone sides maybe a handful of guys. If Embiid stays healthy next year though there isn't a big gap and most knowledgeable NBA guys would take Embiid over A LOT of guys to start a franchise with. If that was what people went by there would be a lot of crazy comparisons. Numbers are only a slight factor when it comes to NBA prospects. If their on their radar obviously they had good stats or have very high potential. The way guys play and measures people use a lot more than anything. Caleb Swanigan would be compared to every elite big with his stats if that was how it was based. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Yeah sorry not seeing Bridges on BG's level at all. Blake is very underrated and forgot about most of the time nowadays. He has improved dramatically with shot since he got in the league. The Aaron Gordon comp with a better shot and a little less athletic is the best comparison out there. Gordon still has a chance to be a very good player though and so will Bridges. The Sixers have stockpiled assets because of Hinkie. 2012 was the year before we went full tank mode. Injuries played a huge role in us not having much on court success as well as Saric not coming over for awhile. This was always the plan. We could have signed FA's to help win a little more but that results in less development for the young guns and lower picks. The Sixers are wanting to go playoffs or top 5 pick, which is exactly what we have done. Embiid, Saric, Covington, Holmes, McConnell & Simmons are all legit NBA players. Also have a pick swap with the Kings this year as well as the Lakers pick if it falls out of top 3. If it falls in top 3 we get their unprotected pick next year as well as our own and the Kings. That is 3 potential top 10 picks next year and a top 5 this year at least. You add 4 lottery guys on top of what they have already and the Sixers will be able to get a star or 2 if they want. Plus the huge amount of money we have to spend if we decide to add someone. It worked out exactly how Sixers fans wanted and thought, now it just comes to whether they make the right picks from now on and players stay healthy. I actually want PG to stay with Indy this year so he doesn't go to the Lakers and that pick turns from a top 8 pick to 12-18 pick. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Honestly Troy smoking probably was the only reason he did it. It wasn't like he did it just to do it. It is a crappy situation, but hazing does happen all over and if not for the ball it sounds like Luke just needed to try to change roommates. Right after is when Troy failed his drug test I believe so I don't doubt that incident led to it. He was young. If wishing his NBA career to go down the drain over decisions as an 18 year old I would hate to see what you think of 85% of kids that age then. No offense man. Bad situation, but easily could have been fixed. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

That is very surprising. Makes sense though considering they were willing to offer 12 and a few other picks for Jimmy after 2 starts for the Pats last year lol. Garrett is almost a sure thing. Why even risk it? His job is gonna be tied to Trubisky as well and that alone is a big chance to take. I think Mitchell could be good but they just drafted Cody Kessler in the 3rd last year. They aren't making the playoffs regardless and next years class is 10x better than this one. I would start Kessler a whole year and keep Brock as a backup. Get more pieces and draft Sam Darnold next year and playoffs aren't just a dream maybe even possible which probably still not. Just makes no sense to me. I see nothing wrong with it, but would like another body. Smith will be able to play the 4 if needed as well. I expect him to get a grad kid next year in the frontcourt honestly. Don't know why, but just have a feeling. Seems like guards and wings are his main focus as of now and it should be. Only problem is if Davis or Morgan have a breakout year and leave. Archie will figure it out in that situation though. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

Thing about Kamara is his durability. In the NFL lead roles are pretty much done for so it fits him better and has a shot at a bigger impact from it as well. That can be said of Pumphrey as well as others. Personally I am rooting for James Connor. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

I expect Hue Jackson to get smart before taking him. At least I hope. Hue is one of the great minds in the game. As a Raider fan he wasn't ready when he was with us but I knew he would be well respected eventually. Bad news is the Browns are so desperate for a solid QB that they may overreact and take Mitchell.
