  1. End of third quarter of the NB-Cincy game. I realize it’s only game 1 but could someone please explain to me why pundits salivate over Nebraska’s QB?
  2. Really tired of the “exposed in the playoff” chatter about IU. Based on our OSU/ND performances were we truly a threat to win it all? No, we were not, but you could say that same thing about 8 or 9 of the teams in the playoff. We 100% earned the right to be in the playoff. Tennessee got curb stomped 42-17 vs OSU, and was NEVER in the game, but how many “Tennessee was exposed in the playoff” comments are in the webverse? Virtually zero. Let’s prove it on the field again this year!!!
  3. I have faith (predicted a 42-10 IU win). Just pointing out that we need to take OD seriously (unlike ISU).
  4. Last year, at South Carolina in front of 78,000 fans, Old Dominion only lost 23-19 and they should have won the game. South Carolina only scored 2 td’s both of which followed recovering OD fumbles inside the 10 yard line. ie South Carolina was not able to generate a TD “drive” longer than 10 yards the entire game!! OD out gained and outplayed South Carolina (which as a member of the SEC is obviously one of the best teams in the history of football) but shot themselves in the foot with 4 turnovers. We better be ready to play ( I have the utmost confidence that Cig will make sure that happens). Can’t wait!!
  5. Love my Hoosiers, and my time at IU, but man o man is that a creepy looking mascot. It would have looked dumb in the 1940’s and is even worse now. Anyway, can’t wait for the season to start.
  6. Warning to AD’s at Wake Forest, Purdue and Cal….. If all the P4 leagues go to 9 conference games plus 1 P4 OOC matchup your phones will be ringing off the hook!!
  7. So the word is that the SEC is going to 9 conference games plus require a P4 OOC contest. If that’s the case I am sure the Big Ten will match the P4 out of conference game requirement. I’ll bet Scott D wishes he didn’t give UVA $500,000 to get out of that series as UVA would have been a perfect way to meet the requirement (the downside is that the scintillating Kennesaw State rematch would not have been scheduled). If we have another great year, which I am expecting, it will be interesting to see if a UVA-type team will even want to play us as I’m sure that, when the deal was originally signed, UVA assumed they had a good chance of beating us. In any case getting both conference on 9 conf games+1 P4 schedules will be a good thing for CFB.
  8. Normally I wouldn’t care who wins the ISU-KS game but pulling for Iowa State today because….. A win will keep Iowa State ranked Iowa hopefully beats Iowa State and Iowa will then be ranked. IU’s win at Iowa (hopefully) will look that much better.
  9. 1) Depends if we are competitive in the those 2 games and how the other potential 8-12 seed teams play (ie, last year Bama losing to Vandy opened up a slot). 2) playoff all day, every day. The entire football world is interested in the playoffs while the bowls, with opt outs and the “you didn’t make the playoff stigma”, are now largely followed by just the fan bases of the two teams involved.
  10. I am 110% on board with scheduling “sure win” non-conference games. That being said, 2026 looks a little more interesting than this year but 2027 is absolutely putrid. You would think we could find a couple of “less crappy” crappy teams to play. IU's non-league schedules 2025: ODU, Kennesaw St, Indiana St 2026: Howard, Colorado St, WKU 2027: Kennesaw St, Indiana St, UMass 2028: Austin Peay, Miami (Oh), E. Michigan
  11. I had hoped that the excitement of last year might carry over to a sellout for the OD game as it is the opener and they are the best of the three bad teams we play. As noted there are 9,000 seats available for $61 but you can get OD tickets on Stubhub for $30. Out of curiosity I checked out Stubhub prices for Alabama’s first gimmie game and saw many tickets for $23-25 (including fees). Stubhub has many $18-20 tickets for the Penn State opener against Nevada!! The demand to go to games that are designed to be crappy just isn’t very high.
  12. Watching BTN’s football preview at Wisconsin. They listed Wisconsins big games this upcoming season but, of course, @Indiana wasn’t included as one of their big games.
  13. OK could have a better team but a poor record. Home games include Michigan, Ole Miss and LSU. Road games are no joke- @Texas, S. Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama.
  14. In the last 3:18 of the game IU outscored them 9-0.
  15. I also don’t understand why people think Michigan will be that good but they should have a good record. I just looked at their schedule and of the best BT teams (at least from a pre-season perspective) - PSU, Ohio State, Oregon, Illinois, Indiana - Michigan only plays Ohio State. Only 1 of the top 5 teams!
  16. I’m positive (LOL) that SEC pundits will note the fact that IU is playing 3 of the top 12 teams in the country.
  17. BTN is re-running the hour visit at IU’s training camp at 5:30 EST today.
  18. Any news/info as to how Trent did today ?
  19. Enright fouled out in 8:49 of playing time. That’s Tijan Jobe’sh…....LOL
  20. It’s WAY, WAY too early to make predictions, based on two exhibition games, but……. Trent is going to play a lot more minutes this year than many predicted. Instead of occasional court time I think he will be our 6th or 7th man.
  21. To be honest, I only thought we would have a 65-19 run #debbiedowner
  22. Yes they are mistaken. The IU ticket office lists the Old Dominion game as “not many left” but looking at the seat map there are actually a ton of available seats in sections 102 through 112. I’d try to go to the opener if I lived within a few hours drive but my attendance requires airfare/rental car/tickets/hotel and I’m not spending that much cash for any of the first three games. Have my Illinois tickets and will also try to make the MSU or Wiscy game. Can’t wait!
