  1. I’m all aboard for Ragland. Have heard nothing but good things about him, his name has been thrown around for openings at an IU Asst Level. Also was apparently a finalist for the UE job that went to Walter McCarty and then Lickliter took it over after Walter got himself in some trouble. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  3. This is Tim Krueger, I know this isn’t that realistic, but I feel like this is an amazing draw for us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. Just chalk this one up as an L and move on Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. I’m just looking forward to seeing the word INDIANA on a line when filling out my brackets. But I agree, they can get blown away in round one or surprise some teams. Depending on the draw, if we show up locked in and can shoot, I would say a sweet 16 is the furthest but not anticipating anything more than a round one win hopefully. 6. Without pissing off the people with subscriptions, is anyone willing to share a little bit of Rabbys article about adding more to the 2020 class. References Jucos and Grad Transfers Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  7. You also don’t make money from a donation, that’s why it’s called a donation and not an investment. Agree with you, we’ve not really done much over the last couple decades to prove we can use an enormous donation effectively. Understand they can have the conversation I will donate for a buyout if you get one of “X” coaches, but that’s why I mentioned as long as Archie shows any kind of improvement here on out and in to next year, you would be better off keeping him while testing the waters until you can guarantee we can sign who we want. 8. They play well together because we suck at shooting and they hustle and get offensive boards. But as far as trying to run a half court offense they’re not ideal. They’re basically the same player, same skill set, same game, with TJD just being better and more athletic. Brunk should have been a 6th man all year, but unfortunately we aren’t good enough to allow that. I think this goes along with what Chris was saying about Smith. If Smith were all on board with being a slasher/inside guy, I think an ideal lineup would be Rob, Armaan, Hunter, Smith, TJD with Brunk spelling the two bigs when they need it. Unfortunately we just aren’t very good, so I don’t think we can put in ideal lineups because we’re so inconsistent we can’t rely on anyone to score at any given point so we have to play the hot hand, which is more often than not no one. I’ve been an Archie supporter for a long time, but just to let a few people say I told you so I am having my serious doubts. I still am of the belief we shouldn’t fire him until at least the end of next year, solely because I don’t want us to hire the next Archie Miller and then fire him after 3-4 years and then another one and continuing the cycle. I would like to give Archie some time if he can show improvement next year while constantly sending feelers out until we know for a fact we can get a big fish. 12. Didn’t really know where to post this so just decided this was the most generic that would work. I’ll be at the MSU game Thursday, wondering if there’s any new restaurants to grab dinner beforehand or just stick to something like Malibu or Jankos. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  13. For what’s its worth, I know a HS teammate of Eric Gordon that knows for a fact he was getting some extra benefits. Which the way things are I’m fine with. I don’t want to be a Kentucky or Duke, but Sampson plays the game and he wins. Every top player Archie has gone after outside of Indiana has gone to a school known to play the game. No matter who our coach is until our admin loosens the reigns a little I think we’re going to continue to struggle against the perennials. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Guys, he’s right. We’re all wrong. Every time. The sooner we grasp that the better. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  15. Completely agree. I haven’t looked at numbers so this could be completely wrong, but I think our best lineups are when only have 2 of TJD, Brunk, and Smith in at one time. I thinkHunter is slowing coming along, think it would help him a lot to get more minutes to get in rhythm. Would eventually love to see a lineup of: 1 - Rob 2 -Armaan 3 - Hunter 4 - Smith 5 - TJD Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  19. His guys are Sophomores. It’s definitely not going to work if you get rid of him before he even has a chance to get old. I’m not saying keep him 6+ years to find out, but as of today we have solid wins and not so bad losses on paper and it seems some are acting like we’re 4-13, not 13-4 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. I highly doubt Archie is oblivious to our atrocious shooting. However, unlike our last coach he doesn’t seem to be one to throw kids under the bus for being poor shooters. He was a career 85% FT shooter and 43% 3PT shooter at NCST. I feel like he understands the importance. Same thing with our offense last year, opposing defenses pack the lane and don’t allow us to do what we want because we have zero outside shooting threats right now. If we even get one guy shooting consistent to make the defense respect our outside game it opens the lanes a lot more and allows the offense to be more free flowing. Outside of when we make terrible turnovers, the offense isn’t as terrible as some think. Obviously the ball isn’t going in the basket, so it looks bad, but we make good rotations and movement a lot of the time, but when the lane is full of defenders and you can’t shoot it dramatically changes the way the offense runs. Again, I don’t know if Archie is the long term answer but I still think it’s way too early to cut bait right now and start all over. There’s a lot of top coaches out there that if you look back at their records they didn’t start winning big in their first 2-3 years. Am I saying give him 9 years to prove something, absolutely not. But we are not a Bill Self taking over Roy Williams Kansas team type of program. We’re an Archie Miller taking over Tom Crean. I have no problem jumping in the get rid of him wagon if things continue to go down hill, but as frustrating as our losses have been this year, and last year, we were in contention in a lot of them and a few shots made changes a lot of things. 21. He was terrible I agree. But again, Archie seemed to pull players and sit them when they made dumb mistakes. Green played 13 minutes, when you make 1 FG from outside the paint and every single one of your guards makes the same terrible mistakes I don’t know if I can say that’s Archie was all talk and not sticking to what he said. We are absolutely atrocious from an outside shooting perspective, no lineup tonight changed that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. He played 13 minutes Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. Some positive distraction for the person asking about Geronimo. Indiana signee Jordan Geronimo (@JordanGeronimo2) had a huge game today: Career-high 32 points, four made 3s, 12-19 from the field overall, 11 rebounds, four blocks, three assists, two steals. #iubb Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  24. Our shooting is atrocious. Hunter looks scared to shoot it when he’s open. Rob seems to lost confidence in hit shot. Unfortunately, when every single one of your guards is playing terrible what are you supposed to do with subs. I feel like for the most part he has pulled guys and sat them down a After stupid mistakes, but everyone is making the same stupid mistakes. I’m not against throwing Bybee in there and just letting him fire away. Got nothing to lose at this point. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
