I personally don’t see the argument fans will stop showing up and we’ll lose more money. Fans will be in the seats, whether it’s the same fans as previous years, but someone that doesn’t have access to tickets and rarely gets to go to games will buy them just to have that experience. There are tons of IU fans everywhere, I don’t ever see AH not being pretty full no matter who the coach is. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I still, still, think it’s wild to hear things like I won’t go to anymore games or support them etc but also person “x” needs to donate millions of dollars to get who I want. You aren’t willing to spend $50 on a bad product but expect someone to spend millions on a bad product. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I’m sure he wouldn’t want him to leave, I also wouldn’t be surprised if there have been some kind of discussions between the two on his future. But, knowing many coaches in the business, I also think Izzo would encourage him to take an opportunity to be a HC whether it mean facing each other or not. The more and more coaches are getting knocked off due to age, buyout, extensions etc. I’m more and more open to Fife. I don’t think it’ll be a sexy hire from a National standpoint but clearly he’s recruiting well, I think the players would really relate to him, and I don’t think he would leave the position he is on to succeed Izzo if he truly didn’t believe he could handle it and succeed. Fife hire wouldn’t make me jump through the roof, but there are very few coaches at this point that would and none of them seem overly realistic. But much like a weatherman, I’ve been wrong often. AJ has really got something going with these podcasts I really enjoy them. Also, to relate to the coaching candidates, as I said earlier, Fife is only realistic if it is for the HC position so we would have to roll the dice being the first big program, however every single player that talks about him seems to talk positive: hates losing, hard worker, a little crazy in him. If we have to go with an IU guy I’m on board with others preferring it to be Fife. I would love to see AJ get on staff at some capacity in the future. He’s mentioned multiple times in his Twitter when people comment to him about being a shooting coach that “Archie has my number” Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

He’s also from Michigan. I don’t see Fife as a realistic option for any position other than HC. And then you have to decide if you want to be the first big time program to give him the keys. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Not advocating this AT ALL, so don’t take it as a candidate. I’ve just always been curious to see how Gino would do somewhere if he ever made the switch to Mens Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Ed Cooley would be a huge disappointment for me. 50% conference record in the Big East and has made it past the first round one time. I don’t even know how he is being mentioned other than an indication how far down the blue blood pole we have truly gotten. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I’ll take the bait. I’ve supported Archie, and I will continue to support him, but this year has been the moment for me. I will support him I want him to do good, but I do not think he is the answer. I was excited about the hire, I liked his defense philosophy I liked his good old stay old philosphy, but it hasn’t panned out. And what has really made me Break is it doesn’t show any signs of panning out. And lots of games this season have just been painful to watch, including multiple wins. However, that being said, my bigger stance, and it has been this for awhile, is I don’t want to see us fire a Dayton Archie Miller to turn around and hire another Dayton Archie Miller type and play this game again. My hope is that Dolson sees the writing on the wall and his doing his due diligence and we will continue to see Archie Miller at the helm until we know we can hire a solid winner. I fully expect Archie back next year, and I hope they do well. I don’t want us to be forced to fire a coach because they have another terrible terrible year. I would like us to move on from a coach because we have a far superior coach lined up. I have no problem admitting I was wrong about Archie, I just don’t want to admit I was wrong about the next one, I want us to play this smart and weather the storm is we have to until we get THE guy not a Could he the guy. Not when your offense is hitting 2 threes and the. Giving up 2 wide open threes and foul a three point shooter. The limited offense he has shown does not even come close to outweighing the lack of defense. He has looked a lot better lately but still good enough to warrant more playing time. We are also not seeing what’s taking place in practice; I don’t care how much someone dislikes Archie, if lander was outplaying the other guards everyday in practice you can’t tell me Archie wouldn’t be playing him more. The fact is he’s just not that great right NOW and I’m not judging him for that, I still have expectations for him moving forward. Also, i get tired of the well we’re not going anywhere might as well play your players that aren’t as good and get them experience. We’re in almost every game still, it’s not like if we tank there’s a number one draft pick we can get. Archie is still playing to win snd playing for his job, no coach is going to purposely play players or give excess minutes to players that aren’t going to help win the game at hand. I really don’t think Archie has set us back at all. As far as the next coach, if he’s a good hire, taking whats here and running with it. As bad as we have played and inconsistency we have still been in most games. We still have terrible losses and the texas loss, but it’s not like we’re getting blown out every game. The team IMO has a solid foundation, and have no off court issues, and seems like if there are they are handled immediately and sternly (hunter) and they play with effort most the time. If our next hire is the right guy I truly think the current team has a solid foundation to run with and you’re not really going too far backwards. I too thought Archie was a good hire at the time; definitely was a highly respected and sought after guy, it just hasn’t panned out and I can admit I was wrong about him. I just still do not want to fire an Archie to hire another Archie and be here again in four years. If you fire him you HAVE to have the right guy lined up Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Dude you can argue your opinion all day long on the resume, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. The brackets are projected and picked by people like lunardi and similar who do it every year. If those people say we’re currently in then we’re currently in. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Man I really like Bruce Pearl. I think Auburn is his last stop, but I really like him. Great coach, wins everywhere he goes, super high energy guy, i think he would bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm and success to IU. He’s been involved in some violation type stuff, but everything I know about him, being from Southern Indiana, all his former players love him, booster club member from other stops and other coaches in the office really liked him. Definitely isn’t afraid to play the game but far more sleazy coaches out there. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

This is has been my stance for awhile. I was behind the Archie hire I thought he was gonna do great. I was wrong. Now, I’m not necessarily a keep Archie guy, I’m a don’t make a move until you for sure know that you can get the homerun Kinda guy. Not another guy that is up and comer and might be a stud and might not. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
