Which part disturbs you? Personally, I'm very high on Sabonis. In terms of Goga, he is correct in his shot blocking ability.

My take on the Pacers: -- Thaddeus Young will not be resigned. -- T.J. Leaf is not in the Pacers long term plans. -- Trading for T.J. Warren indicates the Pacers feel that they have a need for offense and are willing to sacrifice some defense. -- Bogdo....may or may not be resigned. If they do not resign him, they have $34 million of cap room. IMO, he's probably a guy looking at about a $12 million/year deal, which would drop the cap room to $22 million. -- They have to think there is a need to upgrade their point guard position. They might think it's in house with Holiday or could look at free agency. Hope the reports that they could be looking at Ricky Rubio aren't accurate. -- Still do not know what they will do with Turner and Sabonis. I like Goga and I am of the mindset that you do draft for the best player you feel is available. With big men, getting 48 minutes can come in different splits...30 and 18, 24 and 24...but let's face it, big men don't play beyond 30 minutes typically. Still this likely means we are looking at Turner, Sabonis, or Goga moving. I think everyone believes the guy on the move will be Turner. I like Turner's interior defense, but I think we've seen his peak in terms of 13 and 7 guy.

Nice fan reaction for Bol.

40 picks.....still no Bol Bol. Don't know if it's true, but twitter reports are out there that Bol has left the draft floor.
-
Pacers selected KZ Okpala for the Heat, who traded them three future second round picks. Give the possibility of draft rule changes which could make second round drafts a little more valuable in the future, have to really like the deal.
-
I know. But likely someone is going to guy a hell of an upside on him in the second round unless he gets taken with the last pick in the first round.

Man, Bol Bol dropping....

For the time being, the guy who doesn't like it the most is T.J. Leaf. I don't see Bitadzke taking minutes from Sabonis or Turner yet. Anyway, at some point the Pacers are likely to move on from either Sabonis or Turner (Turner would be the assumption) if Goga shows he can handle the minutes.

I can live with the Pacers pick. Still need a better point guard than Collison and maybe Aaron Holiday fills that role....at least more than anyone point guard still left would project to be. Honestly would like to see Carson Edwards there at 32 and take him.

Celtics....seems like a good situation. -

I agree that is what Sheehey did best, but he actually did put up a decent amount of perimeter shots. About 30% of his shots were three pointers. -

I could be off on this....but from what I've seen statistically and from what his size projects at, his game has a Will Sheehey-like feel. Would this be a fair comp? -

NBAdraft.net has an NBA comp for Langford of Evan Turner. -
I guess I don't understand how Arizona couldn't be on that list...or how a team that took Curtis Jones in as a transfer could be. ;)

Seems like UCLA's decision to pay recruits under the table in krugerrands finally may pay off. -

And it sounds like the schools have big interest....worthy of 20 point font. -

Van Zyl did tweet on Monday that he had "great conversations" with Cincinnati and Vanderbilt. I don't doubt at this point that there has been contact between these schools and Van Zyl. We haven't heard anything in terms of offers, so who knows. -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

I find myself personally in the middle of the optimists and pessimists.....but mostly from the viewpoint that my position doesn't make a difference in reality. If I only looked for the good, as an IU football fan I'd have ulcers by now. What I have found frustrating personally is that it's hard to bring up an optimistic statement on this board without being attacked (and this is 100% not directed on any one individual). I certainly hear the same pessimistic statement/developments as others but those already get covered/stated. Not bringing them up doesn't mean someone hasn't heard them, it just means that I don't have anything more to add to the conversation if it has been discussed fully. Let me bring up a couple of players just for context: DeVonte Green and Justin Smith. I have probably as high of an opinion of Green's game as anybody on here. Conversely, I am a Justin Smith naysayer. But I tend not to add much to the Justin Smith conversations because what I have to say has already been said. I don't talk much about Smith because what I am going to bring up isn't going to add to the conversation....I mean I could say the exact same thing as other people are saying, but it really wouldn't add anything. I'll just like their post and move on. With Green on the other hand, I feel what I put may add to the conversation because it offers an alternate view. I think too often people are getting labeled as optimists or pessimists based on singular statements and people get taken to task when they provide a unique view. I know I've been guilty of that. -

I'll take Cal over a guy like Bruce Pearl any day. I don't view Cal as 'shady' anymore (in that I think the illegal stuff was pretty much pre-UK)....everything he seems to be doing is pretty out in the open. He certainly does some things I don't like -- particularly the whole ridiculous luxury housing for the basketball team -- but the things he seems to have been doing at UK are inside of the rules, ethical or not. Pearl on the other hand..... -

OT, I saw Newman play several times and he's definitely a good one. I think people are a little bit higher on him as a shooter than I am but I am higher on his ability to get to the hoop than most. I've been trying to find a box score for the Indiana Juniors v Seniors game and have been coming up blank. I did think it was interesting, though, that Galloway (I believe) outscored Leal in the Indiana Jr/St game as well as the Junior game against Kentucky. Galloway might be a really underrated player at this point because he didn't shoot the three all that well in high school play during the season. -

I worked as a stringer (free lance sports writer for local teams, reporting on mostly local football games) and you are 100% correct. And sometimes the editor's headlines are in 100% conflict with what the the writer wrote. -
