  1. Understood. I just think that fan bases tend to assume that there is a there is one priority that makes a player decide. There are a multiple of weighted ones. Education, fit with the team, coaches, distance from home, weather, family's influence, etc. Everything gets weighted at different levels depending on the player.
  2. You are allowed to have more than one priority. It's not like he narrowed it down to Northwestern and Stanford.
  3. Have to say that if coaching stability is a factor, I wouldn't say Stanford is any safer of a bet than Indiana. While we haven't been happy with Archie's results the past two years, Jerod Haase is going into his fourth season at Stanford with a three year record of 48-49 and a 16-15 record last year in a very bad Pac 12.
  4. If we get Galloway, that's one more trey than we made in a lot of games last year.
  5. The state of the program is Indiana. Duh.
  6. And I'm sure he didn't just come back to IU for a baseball game for a love of baseball.
  7. Romeo Langford. Knows Bloomington, NBA experience (summer league count?). Don't know if his family will let him put in the time. Connected with Adidas to, so there is that.
  8. My mind immediately went to Todd Leary, but that was because I misread "put in the time" to "do time". Too soon?
  9. I've always been a fan of the Arkanxel Dragonbacks.
  10. I don't agree with Dan Dakich much, but he was spot on with has calling of the Grayson Allen ejection for flagrant fouls on consecutive plays in yesterday's summer league game.
  11. I think the list being 13 guys that 'could' be considered is different than a list of 13 that 'are;. It's fun food for thought but not really likely to be accurate on the actual people being considered. And a list that lists Kenny Johnson and Dane Fife as potential hires isn't accurate. As they mention in the same article giving him as a possibility, his next job will be as a head coach.
  12. Van Zyl tweeted that he was going to have sports hernia surgery on Friday and further analysis on his wrist. For those keeping track, his wrist is still bad, he has a sports hernia (recovery from which I have read is 6-12 weeks) and despite this he has received an offer from Indiana and Cincinnati -- who doesn't even have any roster spots open to offer. Damn, this dude must really be able to play in order for both teams to offer a hernia having, bad wrist non-shooter who is already 20.
  13. Van Zyl's game must be pretty crepe-y.
  14. And sadly, it would be an upgrade.
  15. Next up: "Lakers find their third star, sign Austin Van Zyl to a max offer'.
  16. 247 lists a supposed offer in 2016 from Marshall. So he has moved up in the world -- three years later his imaginary offer has went from MAC to Big 10.
  17. Van Zyl tweeted he received an offer on the 26th and retweeted people saying he said he did.....and has not tweeted since. I also 100% doubt someone receiving a high major offer in June receives no other offers in the next week. i think we can put this to bed.
  18. Well, we're 1 for 1 on fictional players committing to us but 0 for 1 with them actually playing for us....unless you count what was actually the cartoon that was Tim Priller.
  19. Simply put.....I don't see how it would be effective to play a pass first point guard with RP on the floor at the same time.
  20. Very strange that it wasn't long ago he was retweeting articles about him considering what schools he would take visits to....then he tweets that he received an offer from Indiana, hasn't said he's gotten an offer from anybody else, and still hasn't 'set up a visit'.
  21. But it would seem like there would be confirmation from sources other than Van Zyl....and while IU can't directly say who they offer, there certainly are quite a few people close to the program who can't confirm it like they had with other offers we have made. And I do find it strange that Van Zyl hasn't tweeted anything in the past two days.
  22. I'm assuming since IU has been silent on this and there hasn't been anyone confirming it except Van Zyl, that he doesn't have an offer.
