  1. I would disagree that body/physique/readiness for college isn’t already accounted for in the player’s rank.
  2. When I've done comps of players in the past, guards on average tended to do better than forwards or centers.
  3. Moody comps: CG, 81 ranking Player 1: 25 Chris Jeffrey, Villanova, CG (73). 8.2 min, 1 reb, 1 AST, 3 pts Player 2: 25 Adrien Stevens, Marquette, CG (78). 26.1 min, 2.6 reb, 1.6 AST, 7.9 pts Player 3: 25 Neiko Mundy, CG (87). Ended up reclassifying to 26. Player 4: 24 Gicari Harris, Purdue, CG (75). 15 min, 1.9 reb, .8 AST, 3.8 pts Player 5: 23 Reed Sheppard, Kentucky, CG (79). 28.9 min, 4.1 reb, 4.5 AST, 12.5 pts Averages: 19.6 min, 2.5 reb, 2 AST, 6.8 pts
  4. Last season, Jordan Scott averaged 21 minutes/game. He was ranked 54on 247. Karbala is ranked 52 this year. i started the player comps on another thread.
  5. Manhertz, SF, ranked 66. 1. 25 Hudson Greer, SF, Creighton (58). 13.7 min, 2 reb, 4.7 pts 2. 25 Amari Allen, SF, Alabama (64). 28.3 min, 6.9 reb, 11.4 pts 3. 25 Jacob Wilkins, SF, Georgia (68). 10.2 min, 1.8 reb, 4.9 pts 4. 24 Jankl Howard, SF, Auburn (62). Redshirted 5. 24 Isiah Elohim, SF, USC (69). 5.7 min, 0.8 reb, 2.1 pts AVERAGE (one redshirt removed): 11.6 min, 2.3 reb, 4.6 pts
  6. Mentioned in another thread where I had said it's a mistake to assume that freshman won't/aren't going to play much. First comps: Karvala. SF, ranked #52. Best comparisons in 2025 and 2024: SF ranked between 44 and 60. Player 1: 2025 freshman Amari Evans, SF, Tennessee (47). Averaged 14.4 min/game, 3.2 reb, 4.1 points. Player 2: 2025 freshman Jordan Scott, SF, Michigan State (54). 20.8 min/game, 3.1 reb, 5.8 points Player 3: 2025 freshman Hudson Greer, SF, Creighton (58). 13.7 min/game, 2 reb, 4.7 points Player 4: 2024 Rakesse Passmore, SF, Kansas (50). Redshirted. Player 5: 2024 Naas Cunningham, SF, Alabama (44). 13.3 min/game, 1.1 reb, 5 points. Average (removing the one player that redshirted): 15.6 min/game, 2.4 reb, 4.9 points.
  7. I do wonder what other team’s 11-13 players look like. I do believe there is probably a big drop off. That said, unless you really think our Euro big can contribute a few minutes, we really need another big.
  8. So you are saying he’s Reed Bailey?
  9. I’m going to run freshman comps for players similar to our incoming freshman and see what they show. I do think it’s a mistake to assuming that freshman are only getting a handful of minutes.
  10. I don’t think they will go over 13, but if’s not earning any NIL, what harm is there?
  11. Technically, since he isn’t going to receive NIL it wouldn’t hurt bringing in 2 more recruits. Don’t know if that’s the plan but it is an option.
  12. Hopefully the last guy is #11 and not #13. I doubt we are coming on the Euro big to be ready to absorb any minutes. Really need someone capable of playing the 4/5 for depth.
  13. Only thing I can think is that we truly are out of NIL.
  14. Of note: this tool predicts Harris will average 9.9 pts at IU and that Dorn will average 8.5 pts at Miami.
  15. Just as FYI -- I took the career three point shooting rates and percentages for the seven non-freshman on IU's roster's and figured if they each ate up an equal number of minutes then IU would take 25.5 threes per game and make 33.5% as a team. 25.5 threes/game is somewhere near average I believe, 33.5% would be a little below average. I think the two biggest pieces where we could see an increase to that total are with Harris and Sisley.....IMO Sisley isn't going to shoot 27% again and Harris will be north of 31.
  16. Until you see the foreign player on the court, always go by who has the better name. Which do you prefer: Clemens Sokolov or Vuk Lazerevic?
  17. The fact that the previous player we tried to grab was Wang, I would envision that we will be looking for player who can play the 4….but that leaves options of guys who could play the 4 and 5 or 3 and 4. There is something to be said about adding a combo forward who can hit from distance (although that might be Sisley).
  18. If I like my job and where I am living the only way I would move is if there was a significant different in the salary if I moved on to a new job. And there are certainties in staying -- bonds with friends I've made, having more of a known role, etc. It isn't as simple as just going to whoever offers the most money.
  19. IU has the highest retention rate of underclassmen for the upcoming season per Rabjohns.
  20. The NCAA already had Sampson in their sights before he came to IU.
  21. Lettuce also doesn't know that Winker was for a walk on position. David Lee scrubbed the last two weeks of tweets, so his post about 'Wang to Indiana' is no longer there.
  22. The highlights were from when he was in high school.
  23. I agree that Fuchs is more interesting than Wang. But whatever $ we were offering Wang it looks like it probably wasn't enough to get him over a school where he would play more and earn less. The only information I've seen on Fuchs in the portal is that in mid-April, Clemson was showing heavy interest.
  24. One of those is probably LSU. Apparently it takes more than 20 million to field a team that wants to play for Will Wade. Rumor is that LSU is going to be relying at picking up a lot of Euro players because they have no choice.
