Wilt Chamberlain led the league in field goal percentage in 1961......shooting 50.9%. Bill Russell highest field goal percentage in ANY year was 46.7%. Even with their size advantage against NBA players in the 1960s, that illustrates how poor of a game that was played in that era.

Watching how they played in 1964, I assume that Reed Bailey is a time traveler. Lot of 1964 game in the way he played.

Also of note, Williams now challenges Monden for being the worst scholarship player in the Big Ten. Last year appeared in 7 games at Penn, averaging 8.7 minutes averaging 2.1 points. Previous year averaged 17 minutes averaging 4.4 points. Career 33% shooter.

Re: on the one time transfer rule. The motivation for this is that 'it's good for the game'. The problem IMO is 'what's good for the game' does not equal what 'should be legal'. We've talked about the fact that as a student you are allowed to transfer as many times as you like, and students do this if they think it is to their advantage. IMO, any rule that should be applied to a general student is one that should be applied to a student-athlete.

Truth is he’s played three straight years for power 5 schools with underwhelming minutes and value. Not a shock that he might want to go out being a more focal point for a year.

The Illinois route is definitely going to be much more common.

I would disagree that body/physique/readiness for college isn’t already accounted for in the player’s rank.

When I've done comps of players in the past, guards on average tended to do better than forwards or centers.

I do wonder what other team’s 11-13 players look like. I do believe there is probably a big drop off. That said, unless you really think our Euro big can contribute a few minutes, we really need another big.

I’m going to run freshman comps for players similar to our incoming freshman and see what they show. I do think it’s a mistake to assuming that freshman are only getting a handful of minutes.

I don’t think they will go over 13, but if’s not earning any NIL, what harm is there?

Technically, since he isn’t going to receive NIL it wouldn’t hurt bringing in 2 more recruits. Don’t know if that’s the plan but it is an option.
