Or -- what I consider the most likely fact -- the coach who said you need $14 to $18 million if you need 5 or more players is being hyperbolic. At this point, the market for a player is what they are asking -- but moving forward that reality IMO is going to see a lot of players not getting what they feel is their asking price and the values drop. When you hear that players are asking for -- say -- 30% higher than last year, that doesn't mean they will get 30% more NIL. I mean, it was only about a week ago that there rumors that Fru was asking for $4 million. The rumors that have been going around lately are $3 million.

If you are going to pay big for 2 bigs, they have to be able to coexist together. Estrella or Fru and Sherrill IMO can coexist -- Sherrill has a very respectable perimeter game. If you sign Estrella and Fru, IMO you are just going to have two players splitting 40 minutes at the 5.

It would be pretty difficult to play them together IMO.

I agree with you on Fru but not Haralson. I think Fru is going to end up back in Germany when he finds the portal market isn't going to pay him what he thinks he's worth. Haralson is interesting -- both good and bad. At the end of the day, having a 6'7" player on the court whom you don't have to guard at all on the perimeter limits a team's offense. Estrella I really like.

There is something noteworthy as well when looking at some of the 'big names': I think as fans we tend to over or under value players. Burton is ranked 17th in the portal on 247, Fru is ranked 24th, and Estrella is ranked 26th. Haralson is ranked 40th. At the end of the day, Haralson is a big name because of what he was expected to do at Notre Dame. At the end of the day, the fact that he has no perimeter game is a huge wart.

BREAKING NEWS: Kanon Catchings (committed to Purdue than decommitted after he got to Purdue and then signed with BYU, next year went into the portal and signed with Georgia) has announced he is NOT going into the portal this season.

Players can't even make visits yet. We've barely heard from any player who has them lined up regardless of team. It's still the quiet period.

He would have to get a waiver and in his case I just don’t see it. Played 4 years, 3 were he played 30+ games and one where he played 16.

From a player's point of view, the upside is getting five years of NIL instead of four.

I do wish we had gotten to see him play, but c'est la vie. So that puts us at: 3 freshman Sisley, Ristic, Dorn, Andre Acimovic. That would leave six spots open. But we haven't heard anything for sure on Ristic, Dorn, and Acimovic. Ristic I can't imagine being back. Acimovic? Maybe.

From what I've read, Malone was a much better NBA coach than Woodson BUT was even harder than Woodson to work for. Posters on the 247 UNC message board are: 1. cautiously optimistic OR 2. point out how NBA to college coaches don't work out OR 3. feel he is going to leave Carolina the first chance he has going back to the NBA.

Bishop Boswell, Tennessee sophomore shooting guard. He started for them this year and averaged 26 minutes/game. I would say a P5 team that gets him is imagining him taking a bigger offensive role that he did at Tennessee -- averaged 6.2 points. Did shoot it pretty well (43 / 39) but he was taking under 5 shots per game with the Volunteers
