  1. So a guy wants to get feedback on a potential dream job? Cool.
  2. My daughter transferred from a school in Missouri to a school in Indiana a couple of years ago. Know why? I'm sure you don't. Because it wasn't plastered on message boards and sports websites. I guess I don't get the criticism of a player transferring if they....gulp....want to. I don't care if it's what someone on the outside looking in considers it to be a 'good reason' or a 'bad reason'. It's a personal reason in all cases and has nothing to do with us....not sure we should have a say because we feel it makes the few hours a week we watch basketball on tv more enjoyable for us.
  3. I think Diallo is still quite a project. But I haven't been as concerned about Ohio State swooping in currently because while we've heard that could be a potential destination for him, I don't think we've heard much any actual expressed interest from them.
  4. So....they essentially played four straight elimination games and we should focus on the one loss?
  5. +1. Tom Allen seems to like for QBs to make plays with their legs.....but for a guy that is supposed to do that, Ramsey doesn't do it often. Certainly not often enough for a guy who doesn't have a strong arm.
  6. Yawn. And Archie Miller took Dayton to the Elite Eight.
  7. Cool....they were at their healthiest (sans Hunter still) and had players still trying to gel because they had hardly been on the court together all season.
  8. I guess I don't get why this would be expected. I like Greg Graham, but he is the guy that coached Warren Central to an 80-74 record over seven seasons. Coach before him went 185-104 and the coach after has went 86-18. Graham was a pretty good player here in the early 1990s here who had never really managed to be able to stick at the NBA level. He's not the type of player that is going to excite players who were born after his playing career ended. I guess I simply don't get why it would be 'strange' that he wasn't asked to 'help out'.
  9. I think it will take at the minimum a winning streak of six games to finish the season.
  10. I don't think there was any area in the country that could have been more disappointed with their teams' performances last year than Los Angeles. UCLA and USC going 33-33....and USC had built up a couple of really good years to lead into it.
  11. For the record, Brunk's high point total for the year (20) was against Seton Hall. That was also his high rebounding game (10).
  12. BTW, I know Jerome can only take part in non-contact activities. Isn't that what Fitzner did during games?
  13. Are you saying he's too timid to do that kind of thing?
  14. I think Jake's dad wanted Miller to recruit under him. Unfortunately, Priller had used up his eligibility.
  15. Forget that. I'm hearing rumors Romeo banged me.
  16. That **** gets you suspended at BYU.
  17. Chris Beard's 'track record of success' at Texas Tech entering this season was two seasons long, one of which he didn't make the NCAA or NIT tournament. Good for Chris Beard at Texas Tech for a great couple of seasons. But Bob Knight had a track record that laughs at one's like Chris Beard and he didn't make Texas Tech an attractive place to play. And if Texas Tech was such an attractive place that it brought (what is now suddenly be rewritten as) the ungodly talent of Matt Mooney, then why was Beard's recruiting class ranked 33rd last year? Why are we suddenly trying to rewrite Matt Mooney's ability? Why the need to romanticize it? In Texas Tech's three guard starting lineup, he was the third best guard behind Moretti and Culver.
  18. It's obvious you don't know the history of Dayton basketball if you saying that Miller was 'decent/slightly above decent' there. Miller coached there six years. He made the tournament four times there (his last four years). In the prior 21 seasons, they had made the tournament 4 times. He owns the highest winning percentage of any coach in their history. They first joined a conference in 1988; he won 67% of his A-10 games and has the highest winning percentage in conference play of any A-10 coach. His average record at Dayton was 23-10.
  19. Joe Cremo was just as sought after after Matt Mooney was on the grad transfer track. He came there from Albany averaging 18 points/4 rebounds/ 4 assists and shot 46% from three. He was a bust. Tremaine Isabell was as sought after as Mooney. He went to St.Louis. So all I'm really hearing you say is that IU can't attract 'top grad transfers' by how you define them once the season is done and eliminate the guys who don't fit your mantra.
  20. Taylor may have picked Northwestern, but he shot like he had picked us.
  21. In terms of not trusting DeVonte to be a facilitator....yes, he turns the ball over too much....but factually he averaged more assists per game than RP and played fewer minutes per game. If Rob isn't on the court (and sometimes when he is), DeVonte will be the primary ball handler. If we are going to bring in another guard, it needs to be a shooter first and ball handler second.
  22. For the record, I am in on Jalen Windham. Sophomore season....scored a game high 15 points in Ben Davis's state championship title game against on 4 of 8 shooting (including 3 threes) and 4 of 4 from in a game that featured Keion Brooks' Fort Wayne Northside Team (Brooks scored just 8 points on 3 of 10 shooting) and Ben Davis' future Michigan State Spartan junior Aaron Henry, who scored 12 points on 11 shots and 2 free throws. Windham also hit the three pointer that put Ben Davis up 49-46 in their 55-52 win. And this year as a senior he helped lead Ben Davis to an improbable state final run where they lost 60-55 to Carmel where Windham once again was the leading scorer (22 points) in a state title game. Seriously, how many times in the history of Indiana basketball has a player been the leading scorer in the state finals twice (not talking A or AA basketball, but either in one class basketball of two 4A finals)? He obviously has some intangibles that aren't showing up in the rankings. For one....the guy is a knock down free throw shooter. I'm not able to find all of his statistics, but from the numbers I have found (from maxpreps.com as well as his AAU stats from last summer): sophomore year (only 8 games listed): 7 of 8 from the line junior year at Ben Davis (in the 15 games listed) 33 of 38 from the line. senior year at Ben Davis (from the five games listed there -- the first five of the year -- plus the state title game where he was 13 of 14): 34 of 38 AAU ball (21 games): 32 of 36. So that's a 42 game sample where he shot 106 of 120 from the line (88%). Three point shooting: sophomore year (8 games listed): 9 of 27 junior year (15 games): 41 of 90 senior year (just five games -- don't have the state title game shooting listed): 11 of 26 AAU ball (21 games) 46 of 103 Total: 107 of 246 (43%) Two things stand out to me: 1. People saying that he isn't that good of a shooter because he only shot 36% from three need to look at what the bigger shows -- that the data as a group says he a 40+% shooter from deep and 2. One thing we know about guys that shoot an incredibly high free throw percentage: both the mechanics and work effort are there.
  23. So you know a guy who knows a guy who to spoke to one person? How many Dixie cups were there in the phone chain? Purple monkey dishwasher.
