  1. They actually say you can get this hepatitis outbreak through heredity — have to have gotten it from a family member. That means 100% of Kentucky has it.
  2. Exactly. Arguing over whether Davis or Fitzner should be on the court is useless. They both have their own skill sets and because they are very different, matchup will dictate who is on when assuming they are both healthy. But what we did do by gaining him.is give ourselves an option and another look. For all we know at this time, Race Thompson could be in the middle more often than either one.
  3. Maybe, but I don't see how that really changes with Fitzner. I haven't seen him play, but I have to doubt that he really offers any kind of rim protection when he blocked a grand total of 28 shots in three years. One thing striking to me is that St.Mary's employed just a seven man rotation and that Fitzner was one of only two players over 6'6". He was set to be the only returning big. From what I've seen the only recruit they have for 2018 is one player.....a nice recruit, #87 ranked overall player a post. But it seems strange to me that if we are expecting him to come in and be our starting center, it would seem strange to expect that of a guy who by all means left a situation where he should have been getting big minutes somewhere else after not getting that much last year. I expect him to be in the mix for minutes but I think that I were to set the over/under on minutes he would get I would put it at about what he got last year at St.Mary's ....15 mpg.
  4. I have to say there seem to be a lot Evan Fitzner experts that have likely never seen him play more than a handful of minutes at most.
  5. And he's likely going to spend those kinds of minutes on the floor again even if he's healthy.....and when he was on the floor, he was that 2nd or 3rd scorer. There were match ups and foul trouble that forced him out of the game. That isn't going to change. I'm just trying to figure out why people are so down on a guy who gives you 10 and 4 in 18 minutes/game.
  6. Davis is a 6'10" low post player.....and you are worried about his ability to knock down a perimeter shot? Fact: last season he was second on the time in scoring per minute on played and second in rebounds per minute played.
  7. He was fine against Iowa and Louisville. There are good matchups and bad for him.
  8. I think people are being waaaaayyyyy too polarizing on Davis.
  9. If we could get 16 points and 10 rebounds out of whatever combination were to play at the 5, do we really matter which combination it comes from? Fitzner will likely do his part to get to the group get to the total. I couldn't care less if we had one 11 and 7 and a 5 and 3 or four players each getting 4 points and 2 1/2 rebounds playing the 5.
  10. I think people's expectations of him after his freshman year were a little to high. They'd see the tears he go on where for a short while he'd look like he was a really, really good post presence. But he was only playing in small chunks as a freshman and could afford to be aggressive because he wasn't going to play enough minutes for us to have to worry about him getting in foul trouble. When you are only playing 14 minutes/game like he did then, you can be aggressive and use up your energy. But he's not a guy who you would ever project out to see what he would do in 28 minutes per game because he's not a 28 minute per game player.
  11. He was hurt. His defense definitely had not been good, but it had gotten worse as the season had gone along up even prior to the season ending injury. He went from a guy at the beginning of the season who showed flashes of the ability but was not as good as we thought he would be coming into his freshman year to a guy who -- from combination of lack of development and injury -- wasn't able to stay on the court much. He averaged under 13 minutes/game in this last three games and although he lacked foot speed at the beginning of the season, by that time he simply didn't look like he could move well because of lingering injuries.
  12. Don't really see how that changes the second possiblity of my point, though. Davis was playing hurt prior to the Achilles injury. That wasn't really disputed. Playing hurt sometimes causes compensations that can lead to other injuries.
  13. Would seem strange to me that he was limping in practice and his play had dropped and then just randomly the ACL happened then. I think the beginning of some structural issues had already taken place. He might have torn the ACL trying to compensate for another leg injury, but he most definitely was hurt prior to going down. I'm not saying that Davis was playing well last year -- he wasn't -- but he most definitely was playing better through through 10 games than he finished.
  14. To be fair, when Tramine Isabell was with Missouri playing better competition he had pretty bad numbers. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/tramaine-isabell-1.html
  15. This. I mentioned Davis' play really starting to go downhill as the season progressed last year leading up to when he had to have surgery.....not sure why btownqb put a 'confused' emoji on it. Davis averaged 11.5 ppg in first 10 games and 5.8 ppg in his last 5. Don't know when exactly the injury started really flaring up, but Dan Dakich was obviously out of line during the Wisconsin game when he went in this tirade about De'ron, suggesting that he was limping 'to get sympathy' and that 'no one cares if you limp at practice'.
  16. Davis’ play last year starting going down toward his last games and it turned out it was a significant injury. I’m sure they are related.
  17. Here is a link to what I would consider Fitzner's stats against 'decent' teams. It represents about 1/3 of his games -- 28 games. What's surprsing is that his usage and number are better against those teams than weaker teams. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1O55Y7qQ8MWMd8BT_okX9ysNgkowStvc72cpe6QJRwSU/edit?usp=sharing In those 28 games over three years, he averaged 22 minutes/game, 7.9 points, and 4.1 rebounds. He shot 44% from the field including 41% from three.
  18. Level of play has been the question.....so I'm going to put together his numbers against just what I would consider what I would consider power 5 conference level of play.
  19. Have to say it’s not like the Langford’s were seeking attention by dropping nuggets of information along the way, false or not. He never said another uncomplimentary of any of the three schools and they were never secretive of the fact that they weren’t going to announce until the spring.
  20. Has Romeo signed his official LOI yet, and if not, is there a date set?
  21. Come on, you have to remember that Nojel put his name in for the draft. No way he's back after the NBA execs learn he can shut down Langford.
  22. And for all intents and purposes, Race Thompson.
  23. Most of the Kansas 247 board had long concluded he was going to Indiana......except for one poster named An6el who was trying to bet $10,000 with IU posters that he was choosing Kansas. Pretending he had 'insider information'.
  24. My wife dreams for a night that lasts 10 minutes.
  25. I think if he was your pastor you might just risk the chance that there is no God.
