  1. Edwards better not ******* bank another three in.
  2. Cline's missed throw....
  3. I get ahead of myself some times, but I'm not close to thinking about 2020 recruits yet.
  4. Sagarin rated their schedule this season as the 79th toughest out of the 101 teams in 4A. I think in the regular season Damezi's senior they only played one ranked team and they were a 3A school. I teach in NWI and talked to another scorekeeper about Anderson and Phinnissee when they were seniors as his team had played both schools. He said you really couldn't tell how good Anderson was because of the amount of talent he had around him but that RP carried his team. FWIW, Phinnissee's team went 7-15 without him this year while Riley -- which lost three D1 players -- went 19-5.
  5. If you think that anybody who says we need to win NOW is thinking we need to win a championship immediately, then they are delusional. We weren't a tournament and our top two scorers are likely gone. I'm not sure why you would even list that as a possibility.
  6. Damezi was surrounded in high school by two other D1 seniors in high school and a pretty easy schedule for a 4A school. Too much o administration and parents thinking thy run the program. Head coach Mark Johnson was pushed out after Damezi's junior season after going 246-130 in 15 years because he refused the demands of administration to pick the number of players he kept and being told of certain players he wasn't allowed to cut. Damezi's senior year Riley went 26-1 with their only loss being to Carmel at semistate under first year coach Eric Brand....and he resigned at the end of the year and went to Southport. Bottom line, the coaches at Riley were pretty handcuffed in their actual ability to coach and discipline.
  7. We could hire Tony Jasiak or John Coffman....guys who coached at IPFW and had a winning record.
  8. Yes. Our only true post is De'ron Davis and he's never going to be a 30 minute guy.
  9. CAM told Wright that he wanted him to stick with his commitment to Dayton. He did tell him that if he wanted to come to IU that a scholarship would be available, but I don't think he actively recruited him after that. C;est la vie.
  10. I feel like I'm picking with sexual disease I want to be infected with.
  11. LOL. And I messed it up anyway....thought that the winner of the Gonzaga game and Virginia/Purdue would play in the final four and they will not.' So......KEEP my original pick of Gonzaga for Saturday's games. That's my final answer, Regis. :)
  12. If a guy claims we are getting Lewis, he doesn't have knowledge of anything. Lewis has tons of options and he has no direct knowledge if where he is going.
  13. Well, there's always money in thd banana stand.
  14. I guess I don't get the "winning consistently is more important than winning NOW" line if you are using a caveat of "needing" to finish top 3 or 4 in the Big Ten next season and winning a few games in the tournament. You are basically saying that we need to win NOW and continue it. That's fine but it seems to contradict your statement.
  15. Only two guys that come to mind are Jimmy Chitwood and Middle School Bob.
  16. IMO, I thought Fitzner was at least a willing defender....not a good one, but willing. I thought Clifton never looked like he knew his defensive responsibilites.
  17. Going ahead and making my Saturday pick.....Gonzaga. EDIT: messed up in a previous post....I thought that if they got to the final four, Gonzaga would play the winner of Virginia/Purdue and that is not the case....therefore I am NOT picking Purdue and instead am sticking with my Gonzaga pick. Will repost this later in the thread to make sure it isn't missed. Sorry!
  18. Seems like a lot of guys were pretty bummed about Keion Brooks going to Kentucky with visions of being a one and done. And if TJD were to somehow play well enough to be a OAD....should we have ignored him?
  19. But that's my point....there was no reason to believe that he would have done that. There was literally nothing that would have lead you to believe the one thing he was very good at that he would stop doing.
  20. I think we all were fine at the time when he was brought in. He was supposed to help fill a need.....you don't shoot 40% from three for three straight seasons by accident. And while his shooting percentage could have been expected to fall a little bit, the drop he had surely wasn't. By the end of the year, teams were giving him that And he had played in two NCAA games and five NIT games coming in....that kind of experience should have been helpful. I guess I don't get the criticism in hindsight. I don't recall much criticism when he committed. It was a free scholarship for one year going to a guy who was supposed to fit a role. It didn't work out, but I don't think we were predicting what we got.
  21. Great band name. Maybe even better than Dusty Banners.
  22. I understand the point you are making.....but when those 2 more scholarships are going to players like Bawa Muniru, Peter Jurkin, Jeremiah April, Tim Priller, Gelon Grant.....I'm not sure you can't really spot talent. I think the two guys whose talent exceeded expectations were Oladipo and Anunoby. And Anunoby really didn't get a chance to showcase anything because of how short he was here and injury.
  23. If you want to get technical, they played no games with everyone healthy since Hunter didn't play all year. On to next year.
  24. If anybody has all their guys hitting, they win.
  25. I think people are being revisionist on Moore. Moore was definitely more heavily recruited nationally than Al was.
