IU vs. Michigan Post-Game Thread
Brass Cannon replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Anybody who tries and claims the D didn't show up for the Penn State and OSU games is basically saying they didn't watch the games. The D gave up 29 points to Penn State that should have been enough. Going into the third they had only given up 19 but after an INT and a crappy punt they scored 10 points. And against OSU the defense played lights out the first half gave the offense countless opportunities and they squandered them all. After our 10th possession in that game we were only down 13-10. We had wasted 8 of those possessions. We are supposed to be a high powered offense, when you are averaging a point a drive, and still in the game its not the D thats to blame. -
Two things to like his stat line and the signing day

IU vs. Michigan Post-Game Thread

To be fair the defense has had us in a few games and our offense has crapped the bed. -
Regardless of how much we pay our coaches the playcalling is unacceptably bad lately.

IU vs. Eastern Illinois Gameday Thread

Looking at the Box score not being able to watch the game, but this looks to be a genuine all around effort. Or is Eastern Illinois just bad? -
Rounding out the '16 class...

I really think that Brown is target numero uno. We should focus on him as much as possible. He wants to play point, we will need a PG its match made in heaven. Alkins is another person who should get alot of resources. St Johns does appear to be fading, so its sorta us, UK or UNC. Hes an adidas kid at heart and with Monk so tight with UK feels like we have a real shot. The key will be to just win this year and show him he will have good teammates and he will know who his coach is. The third scholarship I think should go to a graduate transfer or a possible defection. But for the most part after Alkins and Brown any left over energy should be spent on 2017 recruits. -
It might make us more attractive to Thon, but gotta think it makes him less of a priority for us
-
Gotta think this will help us with Brown and Alkins.
-
While I think that Watford and Zeller will likely be better than Davis and Bryant we have a real oppurtunity to put more solid guards around them. If we can get Brown and Alkins that team will be really sick.
-
3 Observations. 1 - Thank god it was us. 2 - That was some absolutely horrid video and audio work 3 - Hes on a leash
-
I think they likely would play because I think Thon is very overrated and not nearly ready to leave after 1 year. But all it takes is somebody making promises into his ear to trick him
-
Hes going to be a solid player for 3 years, that we have made a priority. At this point losing Davis is less about losing a good player and more an indictment of our ability to recruit. And the Vonleh recruitment was very different.

Agreed, my guess is 3 years

2012-2013 vs. 2015-2016

Agree completely. Yogi was overwhelmed by the concept of the zone. Hulls did much better at running the offense but his shot was still off from being injured sadly. -

While the Zeller team may be deeper college basketball is so guard dominated this team might honestly have a better shot of getting hot and winning some tournaments. -
Perhaps Davis was wanting him to come here really badly?
-
Perhaps its time to stop being mean to goats and the World Series will return. Perhaps consider letting them graze on the field during every 7th inning stretch.
-
If after all the work we have put in on Davis if we lost him because of negative recruitment there can really only be 2 options. Give Crean another ridiculous contract guaranteeing hes here to stay for another 3 to 4 years or get a new coach. We outworked EVERYBODY on Davis, we have better facilities better everything we can not be losing so soundly. And with so little effort from other schools.

This team is not treading up. Or even if they are it won't matter because next year we will be going back down. -
State of Recruiting/Do Rankings Matter?

It's hard to beat not having to go to class. -
IU Will Be More Successful If???
Brass Cannon replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The reason I singled out JBJ over Yogi was mostly because I think that with Yogis physical tools, his defensive potential is limited. JBJ has so many physical tools he isn't utilizing. But honestly Yogi, Troy, Rojo and JBJ all could stand to improve on that front and had things they could do to improve. JBJ just has the most room. -
State of Recruiting/Do Rankings Matter?

I think for the most part rankings are more of an indicator of a players ability to contribute right off the bat assuming quality coaching. Not which one is going to be the better player down the road. Their were dozens of players better than Oladipo his Freshmen and Sophomore years. Most 3 stars aren't ready to do that their freshman year(Trey Burke is a really good example of an exception). Most 5 stars are. In regards to us, we do need highly ranked guys next year. Cujo probably isn't ready to contribute starting next year. Certainly not 30+ minutes a game. -

JBJ I think is the key, if he can play some legit defense that he is more than capable of playing from a physical standpoint it will help the team in so many way.
