I don’t think you can do that “would a different coach do any better with this” roster exercise since part of the problem is he made the roster.

Honestly when Cig is ready to hang it up I would ask him if he wants to transition to more of a GM style role. He’s already doing it. But cutting out the rest of the work would be a way to ease into retirement. Even if just for a few years would be big for continuity

DeVries buyout isn’t crazy. It’s gonna be easier to raise that than to raise the money for an elite roster. Dolson is literally gonna have to cash in all his goodwill from football to get DeVries a competitive roster next year.
