Why not ones that know his system already. Good to see people are consistent. Grasping at straws to defend the soon to be disastrous tenure of DD same way they did Davis, Crean, Archie and Woodson. Honestly I am impressed that anybody who had the guts to defend the Woodson hire as anything more than an absolute joke is still posting.

Don’t enter the transfer portal without a complete staff when your team isn’t even playing in the tournament. How’s that for tangible non slogan catch phrases thats a very clear bare minimum. Not having a staff after 6 weeks is insanely stupid. Coaches are lined up and hired all the time while they are still coaching. Getting strung along by candidates trying to get a bigger offer elsewhere isn’t an excuse. It’s a screw up.

This fans base wants to be successful. But aren’t willing to have standards and expectations. I think Bob Knight said something about that

Losers whine about the obstacles Every loser we hire gets the same excuse made for them. Crean didn’t know the mess he was getting. Archie didn’t know the mess he was getting. Woody didn’t know the mess he was getting and now DD didn’t know what a mess he was walking into. If the door is closed you open or break it down. Stop letting obstacles lead us to failure.

Making decisions quickly and decisively and not being a victim of escalation of commitment. 45 days to assemble a staff is ridiculous. Dolson should have been all over DeVries. I manage an onsite vendor at my job and if they aren’t filling open positions I’m asking them what’s the hold up. And obviously the retread of holding onto coaches clearly after they have hit lame duck status. Look at Cig he moves fast and doesn’t waste time. We won the rose bowl and signed the bulk of our class nucleus all in the same week. While preparing to obliterate Oregon at the same time. Our basketball program can’t seem to do anything quickly. Which might work if we were doing things well. But instead we get a mediocre effort 3 weeks late.
