The more I look at him the more I come around. What he did at LSU was shady as hell but it's legal now. There's no doubt he can coach, he's young, enthusiastic - we could (and probably will) do far worse.

Unfortunately I think we have a group of guys that just want their paychecks. They could care less about IU. Is there any way to make NIL performance based? That would be nice.

Unfortunately we lost blue blood status a while ago and if we do still have it, the only people that think so are IU fans and maybe Dick Vitale. The rest of the world does not look at us that way anymore. We're a joke. Almost got it back with Crean winning Big Ten, #1 seed, etc, but couldn't get past the Sweet 16. Having banners only puts you there for some time. Some stats I saw earlier (maybe they're wrong but eye opening for sure): IU hasn't finished above Purdue in the B1G since 2016 - 9 years ago IU hasn't been to the Elite 8 or better since 2002 - 23 years ago IU's average finishing position in the B1G over the last couple decades - something like 7.3 Mediocre at best. Blue Bloods do not accept this. Our admin has accepted it for far too long. Dolson nailed it with Cignetti so I'm going to give him the chance to fix this mess. The amount of $$$ he's brought into the department since being hired as AD has got to be massive, especially with football this year. There is absolutely no reason to not give him full reign.

Idk, maybe he's a Hawks fan, or Knicks fan, or keeps tabs on IU basketball? Maybe he knows how to go to Wikipedia, looks at Woody's record and realize he's a **** basketball coach and knows there's only one way this ends? I'm kidding but am interested by what Chris said earlier. I didn't know Dusty was in Bloomington after the final four last year. There could be many reasons for that and I'm not a conspiracy theorist but who knows - maybe he did talk to Scott Dolson who told him his hands are tied at the moment but get some Big Ten experience and I'll call you - maybe as early as next year? Doubtful but one can hope.

Do people really think he'd leave Michigan after a single year? I don't. Yeah he has a connection here but if you ask me - he would not have taken the Michigan job, a job in conference, only to bolt for IU that quickly. He would've waited for IU to open up. IMO, half of it was on point. These guys need to focus less on social media and more on hitting the gym. They should stop worrying about what fans are saying—if that's their only source of motivation, then the program is in even worse shape than I thought. Fans being critical shouldn't affect them - they are paid like professionals and maybe that's part of the arrogance players seem to have these days. The problem we have is they haven't done anything to warrant that arrogance. Absolutely nothing. You got smacked on your home floor. Take it and don't say a word about that fans. Without us, they aren't making a fraction of what they do. If social media is a problem, delete it or at least remove them from your phone if you can't resist the temptation (most people can't). Start winning, and the boos will stop. Play with the intensity you showed in the first few minutes of the second half throughout the entire game, and no one will be booing regardless of the score. Crean's first team got murdered frequently but they played their ***** off. I still look back at that team and respect every single one of those guys. At the very least, fans want to see effort and a sense that you care. Complaining about negative fans on social media comes off as weak.

Crean has been responding to IU fans a lot on X lately and reminiscing. He misses IU no doubt. Still don't think he's the guy but Crean with NIL combined with his development of players would be interesting.

Dolson has given himself a ton of leverage and power with the Cignetti hire. If donors have to choose between Woody and Dolson - the answer is simple - Woody needs to go.
