Dusty signed a 10 year deal at FAU in 2023. Need to see the details to determine in this is anything but damn - it sucks being an IU fan. We put Woody's feelings over winning. Dusty should be our head coach RIGHT NOW.

He has subscriptions to sell. If you have a following online nowadays, you can make great money. IU coaching search means his site traffic has probably tripled since the Woody announcement. Coaching searches get us juiced up. We've had nothing else to get excited about. Leaking info/putting out tidbits hits peoples emotions and get more subscribers.

I agree. I'm not holding out hope for Brad but just look at what Mick Cronin said last night about the IU opening. He wouldn't even entertain out of respect for Woody. Any person worthwhile would do the same. I don't think we hear anything until the season is over or the start of the tournament at the earliest.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a winner—IU hasn't had one in decades. Most fans would overlook his past if he delivered championships. Be honest—you would too. Beard has proven he can win (nearly took Texas Tech to a title) and has ties to Coach Knight, who, let’s be real, wasn’t perfect either. But IU fans don’t dwell on that—because he won and graduated his kids. Those days are gone with NIL. These kids aren't looking for an education. They're looking for a payday. Its sad but that's the current landscape. Beard has serious baggage, no doubt. But at this point, I don’t care—I want to see IU win big in my lifetime. I’m tired of gambling on "maybe one day" coaches. That said, IU’s administration won’t hire him. It might backfire, and if he racks up titles elsewhere, no one will be saying, "Yeah, but he’s a bad guy." Most top coaches have skeletons—except Brad Stevens, which is why everyone loves him. Bottom line: If Scott Dolson hired Beard, it would mean he did his homework. And I’d trust that.

Yeah, in the same sentence he mentioned now this is confusing to him as well. I took it as more of a “maybe it happens but probably best not to get your hopes up any more”. Nothing definitive. When he starts getting wind of other candidates, you’ll know it’s done with Brad. I’m moving on. Enough with Brad Stevens. He doesn’t want us, fine. Enjoy the Dunkin, Brad.

I trust Scott and hope he has the full reigns but none of this makes sense. To pushing Woody out midseason, JerryYeagley confidently saying Scott has his man from the very beginning and sticking to it, to Trilly confirming Scott spoke with AAU coaches yesterday and mentioned a non-college coach as his priority, to today. Doesn't make sense.

So glad we kept Woody for a fourth year to please Quinn Buckner and a donor. Dusty would probably be our coach right now if we had competent leadership (not Dolson, I actually think he gets it - he's just been handcuffed).

Totally agree. The positivity was coming from multiple "insiders" which is probably why everyone was excited expecting an announcement soon - totally unrealistic. I've always thought the new hire will be announced at the beginning of the tourney, not in mid-February.

Not saying Brad is coming but what did people expect? He has a job at the moment. Goodman apparently asks him if he's interested in the IU opening and he's supposed to say yes? He didn't say no. That response Goodman tweeted means nothing, IMO. Again, not saying Brad is coming but people are overreacting. I don't know how we can go from all we need is his signature, guarantees are made, to this. Seems strange.

Not really. He's been non-committal all day though. Basically saying all the noise is only coming from the IU side.

Who's came first, tho? It seems like Isaac is just repeating what others are saying. A couple of his posts were long and had some somewhat specific information, however. The fact that his username is a BOT member, screams troll to me. Probably Matt Painter having some fun.
