  1. A post so nice, you did it twice... you must really be delusional. :D (kidding, just kidding)
  2. On your list... anybody but Alford. No thanks.
  3. Are you anticipating some sort of trouble here? Your comments in this thread about the mods wanting to "be prepared" seem to me to be a bit paranoid. Do you really think that your user base will melt down and take this board with it? C'mon, man... show a little respect.
  4. This. Right. Here.
  5. Zach Osterman just tweeted that IU pulled out - that is was Indiana's decision. Maybe Billy D has something else in mind.
  6. Easy man... nobody peed in your cornflakes. It was not intended as an attack on you, so don't take it so personally...
  7. I dunno... slap some cymbals in his hands, and you've got some instant entertainment (even has the Candy Stripes!):
  8. Let's just make you the HC. I mean, what is this crap? You bring Billy Donovan in as HC and pick his staff for him? Let's get the coach first... then let him pick his staff. I get that this is all speculation and that you're having fun with it, but seriously?
  9. Define "old timer" … I'm 64 and followed the Hoosiers since I could walk and talk … do I qualify?
  10. I imagine more than a few of us "old timers" would be less than "thrilled", right, Old Fart?
  11. Oh, gawd, no.
  12. Apart from that... Crean actually out-coached him last weekend. Not sure he's the guy... he's kind of in the middle of his own late-season swoon, as well.
  13. Agreed. Hard pass on Holberg.
  14. Agreed... but doesn't the head coach bring in hist staff? So whether or not there are any IU ties on staff will be up to Biily D or Archie.

  16. The issue with "extend or fire" has to do with recruiting continuity. Not that Crean is burning any barns when it comes to recruiting of late, but other schools can use it against Crean and Indiana, and it can be enough to sway a kid based on "if I commit to Crean, will he be there for my 4 years at Indiana"... as I see it, that's the real reasoning around the push to extend him or cut him loose.
  17. Yeah, he did... but this year is turning out significantly different (worse) from last year... when things are not going well, all of the negatives are exaggerated, and the whining seems to be more prevalent... a little winning cures a lot of whining...
  18. No, he's an expert at playing to the audience. It's ALL about his ratings. He sees that the whole "Crean's the guy" shtick is no longer working, so he's moved the subject a bit further down the road.
  19. It's a maturity issue. He needs to just grow up and play the game. Every player gets called for fouls that they "didn't commit", and get called for stuff they didn't do. Things don't always go their way. Crap happens. Maturity is simply understanding that and playing through it.
  20. If he could only manage to hold himself to the same standard...
  21. Didn't Knight reject him as a recruit, which caused him to go to Purdue and evolve into Keady's understudy as PUke coach? I remember reading how badly Painter wanted to come to IU...
  22. Meh. Appreciate all he did for IU. That's ancient history. He's an angry, bitter, whining baby at this point. Moving on.
  23. But it's not an excuse... Just shut up and pack your bags.
  24. I have a serious question... as NFL free agency date (March 9) approaches, we read of players who are being notified that they will be released on March 9 - the date that free agency starts for the current season year. Would it be possible/how likely would it be that Fred Glass tells Crean that he will be fired on July 1, the date that his buyout clause drops from $4M to $1M, and then pursue his replacement immediately?
