Winning a fourth game gives a little bump over someone who is only at their 3rd.   Combine this with the ranking for other teams not being quite right yet (like, it'll take another 3 or 4 games before they can decide whether holding Old Dominion to 39 points is impressive or not). Just hard to get good data this early. That's why football's data is subject to such huge swings all the time. Small data set.

The other part of it is that it's more interesting to talk about unexpected results. After we got over the start this game has gone exactly the way we expected.
