There are only a few donors to the athletics who regularly hit seven digits. If even "a few". I'm sure they listen to academic donors too, but there are plenty who don't care about athletics. You can almost name all the seven figure donors without even looking them up. They have a loud voice but not the only voice.

Alford brings up a great point. How big of boosters are we talking about? I know a couple of high-level school donors. Both whose names a lot of people would instantly recognize. I know a handful of high-4 and 5 digit athletic boosters. I'm enough of a booster to earn benefits but not enough for the benefits to really get good quite yet. Though not this year. Does that count for anything? I'll talk to them next time I see them too.

Though, is there any state where the highest paid employee is not a coach? Alaska or Hawaii maybe.

Great basketball mind really undersells him. And he has some D3 coaching experience. He built a winning program out of absolutely nothing. And when he knew he could do better he took a season off to be an assistant coach to refine his skills. So he's willing to learn at least. Plus he's an Indiana native! But, is there anything that makes you think he couldn't recruit or just not having seen him recruit? What player in their right mind wouldn't go play for him? I mean, don't get it twisted. There is NO way he is going to be our coach in any timeline. But, if he was he would be hanging banners at the end of his second season.

It's a nice pay bump. It also happens to be almost exactly the Harbaugh deal. 3.5 to 5. I'd also support a slightly lower base for massive achievement bonuses. Tony Bennett only makes like 2 million plus up to like 2 more in bonuses I think. I'd support 4 base + up to 2 or 2.5. If you don't win then you don't earn.

I think you're probably right. I mean, I don't entirely understand what people want. Short of firing him immediately which is extremely unlikely unless he has someone lined up, he has to support him publicly. You cannot have the AD saying he doesn't support the current coach. "Hey, I'm waiting to do anything until Brad calls but isn't this guy a douche?" That just doesn't happen from a business standpoint. I like how passionate fans get, but I'm not sure everyone thinks of the business side. This is a high-value long-term employment contract for a limited skilled position. There are serious considerations for everyone involved.

Without searching, can you tell me what nationally recognized NFL player's mom recently said something similar on facebook?   And again, what is exactly you'd like the team to do about a member's mother posting on her personal facebook page?   What is it exactly you'd like her to do to "make up for it"?
