(2021) SF Terrence Clarke to Kentucky
BtownStrength replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Gotta be real with it. -
Big IF with New Orleans but should be interesting. Does Davis still look elsewhere? And could NO lure another star to play with Davis and Zion. Small market, not traditionally appealing but those 2 could make people listen if Davis stays with the supermax.

Holy $h!t Kawhi!

Very happy with our frontcourt depth on paper. Welcome Joey! -

Sometimes I would get frustrated with TB because it seemed he always whined at questionable calls. Looking back, it wasn't that bad and would gladly take someone with his passion for the game. -
Hope can spring once McRobbie leaves or retires. His replacement can (hopefully) see what a clown Glass is and boots him. Get the IU alum from Temple. He seems to be putting together good hires AND raising money. Didn't even know that was possible.

McRobbie and Georgia Tech
BtownStrength replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Isn't Mcrobbie nearing retirement age? Would he take a new job this late in his career? I hope I am wrong in thinking he wouldn't. I think I remember someone saying that he was retiring in 2020 but not sure how much truth there was in that. -
Sooners in the playoff 3 times but never past the semifinal. Oof.

This 100%. Al seems very coachable and hard working. I have been pleasantly surprised in the magnitude of strides he made from last year to this year.

(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU

Wow really?? Disappointing if true, I think a senior De'Ron could have a great role next year. Do you know the reason behind this decision? -

I think we only would have to have Romeo go pro and have 1 transfer to add KBJ and 1 other currently unsigned recruit. -
Bloomington South defeats #3 Floyd Central 52-44. Leal with 12 pts.

There is probably a big difference between middle of that pack Big Ten this year vs last year though. 7 of the top 25 teams in kenpom in our conference, including us at #25. Not saying we are world beaters at all. And it is frustrating watching our talent struggle offensively for long stretches. I think we will improve as we get healthier and gel (I hope).

It will be ok. At least we love each other.

(2020) SG - Nimari Burnett
BtownStrength replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This guy is putting up impressive stats. We have a real shot? -
If Clemson and OSU win, what does the playoff field look like? Bama, Clemson. Notre Dame, and Oklahoma? Could Georgia or OSU sneak in?
-
Agreed. Georgia had a much better shot to win the CFP but won't get in. The fake will be talked about in GA for a long time.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Clemson in cfb is another example. Frequent classes ranked either outside the top 10 or just cracking it, yet they are a dominant force. Class quality with less attrition is huge. -

Arizona, USC, Villanova, UK, Florida have multiple 5 stars. -
It could also influence students who feel they have to apply and be accepted to the "best" school in the ranks, whatever that may mean. Academic rankings are basically a prestige and reputation factor. This may look better on a resume I guess, but I have been told by multiple physicians (oncologists, specifically) that it doesn't matter one bit where you went to undergrad, and probably does not matter where you attend medical school (in terms of securing a desirable residency and a job as an attending physician). So where does it matter then? Securing impressive LORs? Getting better access to research opportunities? Maybe better at top tier universities, but IU is not lacking in either of these departments. Departmental rankings (med, law, business, engineering, etc) would seem like they are more important because one could find which major they are interested in and research from there.

This really happened?

Stick around for the furious comeback in the last 4 minutes that ultimately comes up short!
