I had many issues with Stern when he held the office, but at the very least, he had a hand in expansion and basketball becoming a true globally popular sport. I always thought Selig was the worst commish of that era. But I could definitely hear the argument for Stern.

It cannot be overstated that Adam Silver is the worst commissioner in sports. I used to love the NBA, but he is driving thia product so far into the ground. Tanking is not the issue he thinks it is, and its my speculation that he uses tanking as a guise to hide the real problems of gambling, egregious officiating, and the Aspiration scandal (which he has yet to address, as his buddy Ballmer can't be touched). I'm not even a Pacers fan and know you guys got robbed.

Governor's Cup: IU vs PUke
BtownStrength replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
Reminder that Purdue men and IU women each got a point for indoor championships. And outdoor has been very competitive the last few years, usually coming down to 1-2 spots. Going to be a hell of a weekend. -
(2027) Edge Jayce Brewer to Michigan

Trust the staff 100% but was hoping this kid would be a Hoosier. On to the next. -
Will be there for NW game as well. 1st game in 10 years. Cheers, Brass.

Mercer was able to hold it together the last few years but its been a slow descent, with the wheels finally coming off this year. Hoping for a few miracles this weekend but not holding my breath.

Inject the Masshole tears straight into my veins. Couldn't happen to a more deserving group.

Transfer Portal w/IU Interest
BtownStrength replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Damn right they are. Not to get too off topic here, but playoff hockey might be the most exciting version of any major sport imo. Back to topic...would like to see at least 1 big and 1 combo forward. I'm happy where we are but need some depth for injuries or foul trouble. -
Dilution of a great product. Disappointment.

IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates

Agreed. The championship has really enhanced the after-visit X and IG posts. Rings and trophies make excellent accoutrements. -

IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates
BtownStrength replied to Lebowski's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Open carry state. Indiana has very lax gun laws, so this is bound to happen, sadly. The city of Bloomington encourages visitors to come for Little 500, but even if they didn't, it has such a reputation that visitors would be there anyway. Police presence probably could be higher, but with open carry laws, huge crowds, and alcohol involved, its a high risk scene. -

Very solid for a backup forward. Hope we can land him. -
Kaelon Black - San Francisco 49ers
BtownStrength replied to LIHoosier's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
All of them are quite fast. They all have the capability of being dangerous in the open field, but based on 2025 tape I would say Coop has the most potential to make the breakaway plays (through combination of speed and change of direction). -
Kaelon Black - San Francisco 49ers
BtownStrength replied to LIHoosier's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
I am not saying Kaelon is "slow" at all. But lets remember to compare apples to apples. Combine uses a laser system to determine end time 40. As far as I'm aware (pls correct me if I'm wrong), pro days are usually hand clocked by scouts. We can compare Black's pro day to other pro days, but comparing to combine results introduces an element of human error. Hand clocked pro day times are know to be slightly faster, but that's anecdotal and sadly I dont have the mental bandwidth at 4:30 AM to research. -
Sid the sloth goes to..Arizona in round 3? Cardinals draft is questionable at best Edit: I do think Bisontis will be good though

COOP TO THE JETS BABYYYY LETS GOOOO!!
-
Sorry dipo. On the plus side, IU has destroyed many good players over the past 2 years. The Bears have become a 2nd team for me over the years, and I hate that I have to root for the unlikeable ******, even if he is a good player.
-
In-laws are Bears family. Gotta politely let them know they drafted a loser.
-
Seemed like a stretch. Not sure I love that, could have added an immediate impact piece to win another with Stafford

Hate to give OSU (or the Cowboys) any props, but great high value pick getting Caleb Downs at 11.
