Anything age related would be struck down immediately. A 5 year "clock" based on 1st year listed on collegiate roster would be more likely to stand, imo.

Transfer Portal w/IU Interest

Not super excited about Harris, but if he is strictly a backup guard I suppose it makes sense. We need probably 3 portal guards anyway. Burton, Brumbaugh, and Harris would be decent -
I agree that based on their additions, their (Louisville) fans have a right to be upset with a first weekend exit, yes. BUT it turns our their roster construction had its own issues (streaky shooting + offense stalled completely when 3s didn't fall, weak rebounding + interior defense). And yes I believe making the tournament is the bare minimum but we should strive for more. Roster construction was poor, I have guarded optimism that this year it can be better. I will say that spending top 10-15 money is nice but doesn't guarantee jack ****. Spend wisely and get guys that fit together in your system.

Player development and retention will be key moving forward. You mention Michigan and Louisville specifically, 2 universities we can reasonably assume have a similar budget as us. Last year, Louisville brought on only 3 new portal players. Michigan brought 4. We all know by now spending in free agency is going to cost more than retention. Last year, adding 10 portal players we weren't able to add as much value per player. Doesn't help that our scouting was a huge strikeout while Michigan hit on all 4 of their players (getting players that complement each others' skill sets very well). We look to bring in maybe 7 this year? So still maybe not as much value per player, but better than last year and scouting and "fit" has to be better. And while our season was much more of a disaster, Louisville was also a disappointment. For a school that spends, they expected to be in the championship mix with Conwell, Wooley, McKneely, and talented freshmen.

Guys...I'm a planner. Always have been, always will be. I just need you all to come to a consensus whether I should go ahead and book championship parade tickets for next April, or proceed with burning all my IUBB gear in the courtyard of my apartment, stumbling naked screaming obscenities into the unforgiving Indiana wind about Luke Jimenez and Jeff Oliphant. Any help is appreciated thx -

Haven't seen much of Estrella, would he be able to coexist with Fru? Or are their skill sets too overlapping? -
Hoosier legend Harry Zmo

Oh I agree. I dont think he jumps this year unless a perfect opportunity arises.

Why do some people want to leave jobs at (very good) community hospitals to go to top academic medical centers? Why would someone move from financial planning into venture capital? Sometimes money, sometimes prestige or lifestyle. Some dudes are just wired to chase the highest level

I'm sure he will, but he can afford to be picky and wait. For example, I highly doubt he would take the Wizards or Kings jobs. Bulls maybe but they just announced Billy D can stay as long as he wants. Orlando could be very intriguing if they move on. Edit: 76ers could move on from Nurse. Would be a good gig but Morey is a snake and I wouldn't want to be around that

As Ashaman said above, rumors are that he has pro aspirations. This coming from Michigan sources. And now he could attempt to be only the 2nd coach to win a NCAA and NBA basketball championship. Rarefied air

Rick Carlisle probably only has a few years left in his career. We can hope

Take solace in the fact that Dusty most likely will be an NBA coach within 5 years

Agree. Snoozefest considering the quality of these 2 teams

Thats game

Seriously one of the least entertaining championship games in recent memory

As long as Michigan keeps playing physical, they have this in the bag. Foul discrepancy is gonna hamper UConn all night
-
They controlled pace but still didn't shoot great.

Charles Lee has done very well in his 2nd year with the Hornets so I doubt that opens up right away. But I agree, Dusty seems to have NBA aspirations, and I could see him as a very successful coach pro coach.

Hurley is Bradislav's otac (and/or отац, depending on country of origin)

Zona defense getting clapped right now. Hard to envision a way they come back against a team of this caliber

My biggest gripe in college basketball is how different the refs allow contact from half to half. 2nd half they call the ticky tack stuff that they let slide in 1st. It happens so often it almost seems intentional

Illinois is gonna get buried unless they start hitting from the perimeter

Pathetic

Oh I agree. Him talking about Steph and LeBron being Godless. The anti LGBTQ stuff. About a month ago he went on a rant about how his knee was cooked. Streaming it all. Definitely seems as if he is in the middle of a mental health crisis.
