  1. To your last paragraph, LA not seeing much of a future with JHS is certainly a big part of the equation. He has not impressed. But declining the option also makes him an expiring contract and more likely he is thrown in as salary filler in a trade. I would expect JHS on a different team at the deadline.
  2. JHS needs to develop his skills to an NBA level, as like you said he is minus athlete in the pros.. Idk how much people watch him, but he seems lost in the speed of the game. Injury certainly didnt help. He is still young and hope he can figure it out. But so far he had not been great.
  3. Yeah tend to agree. He was not ready for the NBA, but hard to turn down that money. He could have dropped after an extra year and not received guaranteed contract. I'm rooting for JHS, and injuries certainly have robbed him of development time. But right now he is a G league player until he develops shot making/creating. Seems like a great kid, and I hope he works hard on his game. He will always be beloved for his time here, especially torching the Boilers in Mackey.
  4. Statmuse says it's Darryl Dawkins in 83-84. 386 fouls on the season. Played in 81 games averaging almost 30 mpg.
  5. Peacock only as an undefeated B1G co-leader? New disrespect level unlocked
  6. "Different kid" in terms of attitude and demeanor? Or something else?
  7. The Yeagley October special.
  8. Yeah this certainly seems like the tipping point year for Woodson. As some have reported he might want to enjoy more retirement activities than other coaches of the same age. But is he too stubborn to step down if this is a medium-successful season?
  9. When talking to people around here, sounds like Tre and family like Collins and the role he can play at Northwestern sooner rather than later. Purdue definitely prioritized him.
  10. Beautiful look from Sarver to Tommy!
  11. Yep. In no way is Yeagley's seat hot but something has to change.
  12. 2-0 Kentucky. Damn need to get 1 soon
  13. No idea, on this one, heard a bunch of guesses mostly. Have yet to hear a pick for Oregon but all others have been said to be "in the lead".
  14. Can't disagree there. And sadly his opinions drive interaction, which is what he wants. No winning with this guy associated with IU.
  15. Care to elaborate?
  16. Bossi's article from last December calls it an official visit, but I can't find any other sources. Either way, I'm with you that it seems like we won't be the final choice. Just hasn't been any buzz about us. Has his recruitment been quiet all around or just on the IU front?
  17. He is irrelevant at this point. Old man yelling about painted nails. Yawn.
  18. I know a lot are positive on Mullins. How are we handicapping the Reibe race?
  19. I do think it factored into the decision. I suspect Rice will be good but idk about "leaving for the NBA" good as a lead guard. PT is most likely going to be tight, but like always, someone will not be satisfied and transfer.
  20. I'm confused yall. Is the sky falling, or should I not give a f*** because we getting anybody we want?? Do I celebrate with a drink because we didn't really want him anyway or drink because we suck again? Beer or bourbon?
  21. Yeah might happen. Didn't some billionaire try it with Miami a few years ago? Might not have worked as planned but I agree someone will do it. On the other hand, I can't see it happening too often, because 1) let's say $10M is the number. How many elite players will you get? Maybe 8? 80M a year is a huge investment with an obviously lower return. Billionaires don't get rich from investing in things that lose money, even a passion project such as college basketball when a (nonguaranteed) title would bring money, notoriety, and access to the program. 2) if some players are making $10M and others are not even making close to that, I imagine team dynamics might be odd.
  22. The thing is, if salary caps are put in place, boosters will just go back to paying under the table the way they used to. I know it might not be a popular take, but let the mega rich give the money to kids this way. Better to be out in the open.
