As sad as it is to say, Crean teams were some of the most enjoyable of my lifetime. -

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Exactly. I think Pearl and Oats would be absolute grand slam hires, but there are people that do not think so. No single prospect will make eveyone happy. Dolson can listen to fans when they refuse to buy tickets/concessions or make donations, but he absolutely should not take "fan consideration" into the hire (unless, of course that fan is me). -

Short term embarrassment for the long term good of the program. It sucks, but I hope we lose out as well (ugh it hurt typing this). -

Wasn't Sean Miller thought to be the leader there? -

Do we feel Pearl.is even realistic? He seems to have a soft spot for.the state of Indiana but he is established at Auburn. In addition, he has leveraged open gigs recently for raises. To people who would know, is this anything more than a crazy long shot? -

Please god no. May should be the only "Knight guy" under consideration. I know you specifically are not advocating for Lewis, but he has accomplished nothing so far. -

While this might end up being true, I would gladly give Dusty a grace period (maybe not 3 sh*t years) if it means we pull the plug on Woodson before this gets worse. Dusty, I believe, could at least make early headway with local recruits. -

Exactly how I feel. Losses used to sting badly, especially to Big 10 rivals. Now, if I'm too busy to watch with family, work, or university, oh well. A good coaching search always sparks interest again.. -

Apathy has set in. No longer appointment television. Makes the losing easier to handle when it isn't a priority. I wish it was not this way but nothing I can do. -

In terms of recruiting, it seems like the answer is somewhere in the middle. Getting TJD on board was huge, as was landing JHS, Ware, and Reneau. Same could be said for Cupps and Mgbako (I believe both will be good college players, but jury is still out). The bad is strikingly similar to Crean. Finishes 2nd place in lots of recruitments, very boom or bust. This leads to inconsistent roster building and imbalance. We have yet to see Woody take players with only DIII offers, but I believe that's because he thinks he can do better. Has not consistently proven it. -

Sadly, it seems like we are stuck with Woodson. And 1 more year of this spiraling product will only make it harder on the next guy. -
Make the 2025 tourney, don't get bounced 1st round. Preferably be top 4-5 team in Big 10. Any worse and we should be looking elaewhere.

Does anyone truly believe Woodson is gone after this year (by his own doing or the administration's)? I do not but I am interested in the opinion of people more in the loop. -
Yeah we always psych ourselves out about the "dream class". Most of the time no point in even dreaming because it's not happening. However, 2 things make this group different. 1: All in state. The momentum of one commitment could definitely carry over to another and proximity to home is important for most. 2: Only Haralson is a top 25 kid. We have shown some struggle to string 5star kids in the same class. IU just isn't that program at this point. However, if we go all in on Haralson as THE guy in the class, I feel like we have a good shot. EDIT: not saying I think we do land all 3. I'm just saying as far as "dream class" goes, this one is actually achievable.

So Stevens met with us multiple times "to put to rest the idea of him ever coaching Indiana or in college again"? Come on you know he is not going to waste his own or family's time like that. He chose Celtics FO offer, which probably does close the door. But meeting with someone more than once for a job you are not interested in seems asinine, and Stevens doesn't strike me as that. -
DeBoer or Norvell?

Warriors playing now on NBA TV. For those interested I would guess TJD gets some minutes with Draymond out.

If only the game ball were made of ladders, Giannis would have just chucked the thing into the stands.

Yeah Edey will just have to be "good enough" to not get picked on enough to make him a net positive. Doesnt always translate but I'm of the opinion he could have a bench role. Gobert is actually a good example that can stay in front of a guard some due to foot speed and instincts. The rest of the list for sure gets torched 1v1.
