This is just what we needed to get the media to stop talking about how crazy and nasty IU fans are.

At the very end of the interview the guy says Crean told him that he hasn't talked to Glass since before the firing.

I think we can put the "Fred and Tom were besties" belief to rest for good now.

Glass called him into his office for a meeting and Crean was like nahh I'll pass, I'm going on vacation.

Another thing is Billy always would've felt like a hired gun. I think he would've had a lot of success here but he wouldn't have been "ours" in a sense. With Archie it's cool because he has the opportunity to grow with the program. He could be here 25-30 years and become synonymous with Indiana basketball like Bob Knight was back in the day. That's something I really hope to see happen.

I don't think pro players would take Crean seriously.

"So you're the new basketball coach, that's the one with the two hoops right?"

How many years of eligibility does he have left? I know it will be his 4th year of college but I don't know how that works out with him not being on a team in 15-16.

Blackmon was playing for a coach that wouldn't hold players accountable and would routinely make up excuses for his own shortcomings. It was a toxic environment for everyone involved. Archie seems like a guy who wouldn't be afraid to bench him if he didn't want to play defense. I think it's kind of silly to wish away our best scorer because of things he did with Crean as the coach.

Like the tweet someone posted yesterday said, we got an Indiana guy. He just isn't from Indiana. We like Indiana guys because they have certain characteristics and I think he has them. I think we're all going to love his no nonsense, outwork everyone, junkyard dog attitude.

I would prefer to leave it open and find a grad transfer more than anything, but seeing it broken down by class I think signing a freshman would be the best move. If those guys all come back we'll have a minimum of 5 scholarships to play with, likely six during next year's recruiting cycle. Signing another freshman this year would help balance our classes. Of those three I would take Moore, but I'd want to see who else is available first.

I just wanted to take a jab at Purdue and their "state champs" tweet from a few days ago, I agree though. I want us comparing ourselves to and competing against Duke, Kansas, UNC, UK, etc. We need to start having a national presence again. I want Archie to be able to walk into a 5 star kid's living room and have "Indiana" hold the same weight as those other top schools.

I think this season was a complete disaster so I don't think we can use it to draw much about what the players can do next year. A fresh start with a new coach could do both of them good. Archie sounds like the complete opposite of Crean so they might end up being completely different players next year. They can both leave and play immediately elsewhere so if either one comes back next year that tells me that they're buying into Archie's system.

I would be extremely surprised if Archie hasn't talked to him yet. He's the only guy left in the class right now and he's the best of the three. He still has iubb all over his Twitter so maybe he's already told Archie that he's staying. That's just my random guess based off him not asking out of his commitment yet and hearing that he has reached out to the other two already.

Give me some games against other Indiana schools, I really want to be state champs next year.

Just when we thought Crean was gone for good. Him and Dan can sit and talk about what it's like being former IU basketball coaches. I wonder how many excuses we'll hear.

If I'm this excited I can't imagine how excited the guys on the team are. Total 180 from what they're used to.

That's awesome. Sounds like a guy that didn't care about winning the press conference and is just ready to hit the ground running.

I see him and Yogi's IU careers through their junior years as pretty similar. Both came in as very highly ranked players with high expectations. Both were pretty good but didn't really live up to those expectations their first three years. Yogi came back for his senior year and became an all-time great Hoosier. Blackmon has the chance to come back and do the same.

His stock is extremely low right now looking at draft boards. The d league or some European team would be his best option if he came out this year imo. If he came back and averaged 18 on a team contending for a Big Ten championship I think his stock would rise quite a bit. Archie would have him running off screens and playing defense. This year he was just the best scorer on a really bad team. If he came back he could show teams that he's a complete player.
