We averaged 15.2 turnovers and gave up 73.3 points a game last year... 14th and 13th in the conference respectively. Yikes. Relatively minor improvements in those two categories alone would be huge. We'll have to wait to see how good they look with Archie coaching them. Top 10 might be too high but regardless I think we'll be a tournament team. Once we're there anything can happen.

That's not what I'm saying.. It's not like it was a case where we tried our best in those games and got beat by teams that were just better than us. Even after OG went down we had one of the most talented rosters in the Big Ten. We usually lost games because we didn't play defense, we were careless with the ball, and we didn't have an offense if 3s weren't falling. The talent is already there, it's up to Archie to get the most out of it. Crean obviously couldn't do that.

We lost 7 conference games by 7 points or less. That's a bad turnover here, a missed defensive assignment there, bad shot selection etc. A new coach who holds players accountable and has the trust of his players will make a big difference imo.

Crean seems like one of those guys you either really like or you really hate. It doesn't seem like many people are in the middle ground.

Absolutely. If he comes back and has the type of year we're expecting then he'll be a top 5 pick in next year's draft, and he'll likely leave with his degree as well. I think it'll come down to whether he thinks that's worth the risk of another injury.

If I was OG I'd take the money and run. I really want him back, but I wouldn't take the risk of a career ruining injury to play for free if I was him.

Oh I was the same exact way. I grew up about 2 and a half hours north of Bloomington, but I went to a super small school and no one else from my class came to IU so it was like a whole new world for me. I think sometimes we (myself included) think we have to get x, y, z players because they're from Indiana, but there will always be guys we never really had a chance with because they want to get away.

I think that's something people look past sometimes. I've always wondered if I would've still went to IU had I grown up in Bloomington or nearby. Part of the cool thing for me about going to college was getting away from my hometown and being in a new environment and I think some players think like that too.

Yuuuuge. We should have great depth and experience next year.

We have the chance to be really good next year, which will really help us in recruiting too. Good times are ahead y'all.

I know we all wondered during the season if there was some kind of locker room drama that was affecting their performance, but they all seem to enjoy being around each other. With every day that goes by it becomes more and more obvious that Crean was the problem imo.

The only way it would make sense to me would be if he's not capable of playing at this level anymore after his injury. If he's healthy I don't understand his decision at all. He can go and get a job whenever he wants. This is his last chance to play ball.

He's gone soft on us.

I believe that an NBA team contacted Crean last year about as much as I believe that Billy was in Bloomington last Friday.

He did reach out to Crean, but Crean refused to meet with him. Now he's not Fred's problem so I see no reason why he would reach out to him.

I don't think it's really an 'either or' type of situation. I don't see him getting Big Pritch on board and then not looking for any other Indiana guys to add to his staff. He very well could bring in someone like Guyton in addition to Pritchard. I think this would be more of him trying to fill the end of his coaching staff with a guy who played here and has a little exposure to the high school scene in Indiana.
