Andy Enfield at Maryland would be a huge upgrade for them. He was actually on my short list of candidates last year, as I think he's a pretty solid coach who flies somewhat under the radar because he's on the west coast. I feel like he would be turned off by the B1G though.

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff
AKHoosier replied to Hoosierfan1901's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree with this, however he was on Izzo's staff for 10 years and spent some time in charge of a program. He's recruited high major players in the Midwest, knows the B1G, and is young and hungry. Just playing devil's advocate, I'd like for us to get the best person possible whenever the time comes regardless of where they went to school. -
Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Next year looks grim. We'll probably once again be picked to finish in the bottom half of the conference, 8-10 range if we lose TJD and Race. Let's just hope someone is left over in the scrap heap after UK, Kansas, AZ get who they want. -

Woodson at 64 does not look like the kind of guy who has the energy for this anymore. He's not Coach K in that he doesn't have 3 top 10 guys every year at his disposal ready to win now. -

I still don't get how you buy out Archie Miller to bring in Mike Woodson. But evidently, that's IU athletics for you these days. One AD makes 2 huge mistakes in extending Crean then hiring Archie, next AD says "hold my beer". -

Once again our offseason will be spent hoping for major roster turnover. That's not what winning programs do. Feels bad. -

What a pathetic f***ing program. Hilarious how we claim to be a top 5 blue blood type job, and we can't even beat Rutgers at home to get to the tournament. -

Unreal how this program can't win must-win games. We're just not there yet. So many times over the years we've had a chance to break through and not enough guys on the team want it, and no coaches on the bench know how to teach it. Punked on our own floor during Senior Night with the tournament on the line, and we falter. -
Can't they still get a share if they beat us and Wisconsin loses their last game?

To me, this next game against Rutgers is similar to Archie's second year when we essentially had a play-in game with OSU in the BTT, and the winner would go on to get an at-large berth in the NCAAT. We laid an egg and ended up in the NIT. I'm hoping our players come out swinging and ready to earn a trip to the tournament. -

It's sad to think those uniforms made it past someone's desk. After the game is over, put 'em in a pile and light it up. Why can IU not get alternates done right? Is it Adidas, are they just not creative? -

I always wondered who that dude is who sits next to Woodson during games, I know he's not an assistant coach. He always has a mask on and looks roughly the same age as Woodson. Maybe it's standard practice for other programs to have "advisors" on staff, but it seems very odd and counterproductive. Are they in practice? Do the players listen to them instead of actual assistant coaches? If I was an assistant, I'd be very frustrated. -

Just once I'd like to spend this time of year looking forward to the tournament rather than an offseason of roster turnover. -

Scott Dolson, whaaaat were you thinking? Man, another year or 2 of this and you run him out of town and ban him from Bloomington forever. I can't stand people who try to outthink the room. -

Not happening. The type of transfers we need aren't going to a school that hasn't made the tournament since 2016. They want to win now. Arizona, Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina type of programs eat first, then we're left trying to solve our problems with the Evan Fitzners of the world. Don't convince yourself we're going to find some under the radar player who comes in averaging 18 and 12 next year. -
Be careful, that doesn't support the narrative some are trying to create.

I've watched the video 10 times, and I don't see anything wrong with what Gard did. This is 100% on Howard for escalating the situation. Lots of coaches get "handsy" after a game to try to explain themselves, but Howard reacted by immediately acting like a teenager looking for a fight.

Yeah there was a mix, this at least makes it official. The wife and I really want to go to homecoming next year as well as a basketball game. We usually stay in the IMU Hotel since we love it there, but there's no way we're doing these trips if we have to wear a mask since we'd be on campus the vast majority of the weekend.

IU and Rutgers; both teams 16-9 and going in completely opposite directions. If it's February, it's time for the late-season slide at IU.

Ya think? Honestly, this one just sucks. Wanted this win bad, but Wisconsin just has our number. They find ways to win. A depressing thought: we're now 3-23 against UW over the last 26 games. That means there's a whole generation of Wisconsin fans coming of age at a time when the IU game is a guaranteed win. -

It's hard to feel confident about a win here. Ultimately I don't see Wisconsin dropping two in a row, and they've pretty much walked all over us the last 15 years. Avoiding a 4-game losing streak is paramount for this team's psyche. A win would go a long win in guaranteeing an at-large bid, and just flat out restore some confidence for the players. Feels like a must-win to me. -
Yeah I wasn't saying you were, I appreciate posting the video. I was just commenting on what I saw after I watched his highlights. He had good numbers against Marian in my neck of the woods, but they have no size at all either. I want to be excited about this kid because it sounds like he really likes IU, but idk.
