I don't even know where to start when criticizing this list. Go home Andy, you're drunk.
-
Yeah, which I like. We could all come up with a set of metrics to prove one coach is better than another. I prefer the "gut feel" of attempting to rank coaches while prioritizing their entire careers and current trajectory.
-
Pretty generous ranking honestly, considering he's ranked ahead of Shaheen Holloway, Steve Pikiell, Fred Hoiberg, and Tad Boyle. All of whom are better coaches IMO.

Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn
AKHoosier replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I think either someone in the Mullins camp told him to be quiet, or he wants to let the kid have his day. Barrel rick is clearly close to this recruitment, and I don't think the fact he's gone silent means our chances are diminishing. JMO. -
Evidently she's holding out until Loyola wins it all.

(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA
AKHoosier replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It better be IU, because it would really suck to have him at any of those other schools. -

The fact that Hurley hasn't killed the story or put out a statement makes it seem like he's all but gone. Tough to turn down an opportunity like that, but man I hate that CBB is about lose arguably its best coach. What a kick to the crotch. -

I read on X that he had already moved into the dorms for summer classes at Purdue. If true, that's nuts. -

We win the offseason again. I'm not at all convinced this is a tournament team. Ballo raises our floor, but he is not an upgrade over Ware. Plus those FT shooting numbers will cost us late in some games. We've done nothing to fix our most glaring issue, which is shooting. I don't want to hear people telling me how excited I should be about adding guys who shot 30% from 3 last year. That doesn't mean the issue has been solved, it means the jury is still out. I do like Rice. We needed Conwell though. Mgbako is a big key for next year. If he picks up where we left off, we could be very solid. -

Mike Woodson: -
I wonder how this affects McNeeley since he's still undecided. Also, can't Hunter Dickinson come back for another year?

I hope we add Essegian. There's enough talent there for him to help us in a reserve role playing 12-15 minutes per game. He's better than Leal IMO. -

There is no way I believe that. Taking nothing from them as I believe they are good players, but best in the country? -

Yeah and how many IU gifs did he post in regard to Boogie Fland when that recruitment was winding down? Anyone remember the coach we were going up against? -

If that's the path, I fully support blowing the NIL budget this year to build a competitive team that hopefully can make the second week of the tournament at least, then Woodson retires paving the way for Brad Stevens in 2025. I can dream. -

I've always wondered about this. If I was a multimillionaire being asked to give to NIL, no way would I not want to decide who the money goes to. But that's just me. -
He'll bring UConn even with UK in total national titles by the end of the decade. Some down years will happen, but he's already earned plenty of leeway. The only real threat to poaching him is the Knicks/Nets/Celtics. IMO.

It's not an accident that Nate Oats released a statement this week confirming his commitment to remaining Alabama's coach. -

He definitely raises our floor in a major way, which is exciting. However, if we don't land any shooters then I don't know how many more wins we'll have than this past season. Is he an upgrade over Ware? I don't really think he is. -

Based on coaches who made statements and official reports, they went after Hurley, Oats, and Drew. -

Donovan looks rough these days. He seems more ready to retire than jump into the pressure cooker that is UK basketball. -

Yeah. Shrewsberry could very well turn out to be a lifer somewhere. But he would still be a tough sell right now. He's just lost a lot of games over the past few years. I know he hasn't been anywhere that long, but that makes him unproven and for me, a reason to back off. -

I'm 50/50 on the Ballo news. The positives are obvious. He would add very good defensive and rebounding capabilities. Very good finisher around the rim too. But how does he co-exist with Reneau though? I would hope to see Reneau step out and shoot maybe 3-4 3s per game if we land a post presence like Ballo. Malik has a respectable enough shot from outside that defenses have to account for. Maybe we can actually go 4 out 1 in. -

Rupp Rafters is gold right now. Some are relieved, since now the AD can refocus efforts on Hurley and Donovan. They could potentially get Pearl. I could see him wanting to chase a title there. UK needs a personality, never saw the fit with Drew.
