If anything we have learned over the past few years that money/NIL alone can't buy you wins. You still need someone who is the stage of his life of being willing to work hard, and has the drive to be a winner. I honestly don't care if it's Stevens, May, McCollum, Beard, etc. Just go get a guy who works as hard as the players he coaches and let's roll. Ok just kidding I want Stevens more than the others.

That seriously was one of my 5 favorite IU games of my lifetime. We took so much crap from fanbases for celebrating the way we did after beating Illinois that night, but they couldn't understand.

Enjoyed watching their offense. Lots of movement and cutting to the basket. They could wreck some brackets if they come out of the Big South this year.

I know eyes are focused on the UM/Minnesota game but man this High Point vs Longwood game is so entertaining.

If we lose Friday at OSU, especially in blowout fashion, I strongly feel Mike Woodson has coached his last game at Assembly Hall without having announced his impending "retirement". Our athletic department isn't stupid. They know the damage that will ensue by empty seats, cascades of boos, "Fire Woodson" chants, etc.

And when the dust settled they have a top 10 team, play an exciting/modern style of basketball, and Pope looks to be a great fit. He'll be judged by how he does in the tournament though. That's always been his big question mark.

I keep checking this thread expecting to see some corporate speak from Kathy talking about stakeholders, synergies, and consensus building.

Screw all this talk about letting him retire on his terms, so he can step away gracefully. I want his a** fired. We're in this position all because he made it known his feelings were hurt he never got an interview 8 years ago, even though he never deserved one. The guy was in it for himself. All ego, literally no results ever. Wants the job title, but not the work that comes with it. Loves the recognition, but can't deal with the fans who criticize his approach. Fire him. Never let this loser step into Assembly Hall again.

You could sum it up more succinctly by saying he (Woodson and the burner brigade) wants all of the credit when things go well, but none of the blame when things go poorly.

If we continue to lose, which we will, I think he announces his retirement no later than February 1st. That's the only way he can save himself from the fans relentlessly booing him while Dusty's UM team is tearing us a new hole.

Except for the part about him being a terrible human being, his post is 100% spot on. Woodson has shattered whatever legacy he had. To fans under 45, we have no recollection of Mike Woodson the guy who played under Bob Knight and won a title. So he was only a "former great player" to me. Now, to me and an entire generation of IU fans, it's no longer "former IU great Mike Woodson". Instead it's "the guy in way over his head". I suppose I can't speak for everyone though, only myself.

I think this was always his fall back job. When the NBA fizzled out, he figured colleges would come calling. Only 1 did. Lucky us.

Same. Being from South Bend I've been an ND fan my whole life. But my interest dwindled when Kelly was there, just could never stand him. I like Freeman a lot and have started to root for them more again. Still a little bitter, wish we would have smashed them though.

Michigan went 8-24 last year, winning 3 conference games. Now 12-3, ranked in the AP Top 25, 4-0 in conference after going 2-0 on an LA road trip. Amazing what some coaches can do in a year.

I predict after beating USC on Wednesday to get to 4-1 in the B1G, the burners will get cocky and those in this thread will freak out about him coming back next season. Looking at the schedule though, it's not a stretch to see 4-1 becoming 5-10 or 6-9. The schedule does get pretty daunting starting this weekend.

Who guards Wolf? Reneau? He is definitely a matchup problem for us.
