So you're saying the Department of Homeland Security already knows? Sorry---couldn't resist. I have no idea what button I hit to kill my prior post. -

(2016) PF De'Ron Davis to IU

I agree it sounds like Kegler and Davis want to team up---but at MSU? Makes no sense. Howland will bolt from there the minute he can and why play for a partially filled stadium at an average SEC school when you can play for a packed house at a national basketball power. I have to think the decision will be clear when the dust settles---certainly for Davis and hopefully for Kegler too. IU all the way! -

I still feel good about Davis and I am actually starting to think we may get Kegler too. I still have to believe reason will prevail. No real good reasons to pick MSU over IU. I liked Kegler's earlier comments that he wanted to play for a team that would contend for an NCAA title. Is that really Mississippi State?? NO! Go Hoosiers! -

I certainly agreed with their dismissals---but I know sometimes kids later grow up and learn from their mistakes---can't really recall a D1 team that took a kid back after a 1 year hiatus--can you? -
IU leads SI projected offensive ranking

The Hurryin' Hoosiers are back---3-pointers out the wazoo and highlight reel dunks galore. Defense should be improved enough for a special year. Good to see us get respect from SI---which I think is deserved and legit! -
State of Recruiting/Do Rankings Matter?

Recruiting top players AND player development help. Have to have both for a successful program. -

Don't want to get anything started here---but does anyone think Crean would ever consider taking him or Holt back after kicking them off the team for a year to grow up and clean up their acts---or if either would even want to come back. One would think that ship has sailed---and I think Crean did the right thing in both cases. But--I am rooting for both of them. I just wonder if the door is open for either one of them ---even a crack. Thoughts? -

This should be a great year with much success. Next year is where he is going to have to work to earn his $$$$$ ! -

Defensive strategy for upcoming season
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Iufan2324's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Good points. We will be able to outscore many teams this year---but DEFENSE will determine whether we are just very good--- or great. I expect the freshman to sophomore jump and expect to see improved defense from RJ and JBJ---as well as from the rest of the team. I hope TB stays healthy so he can get the defense down as that is going to be a key for him to help us ---and stay out of foul trouble. I like what I am hearing about him wanting to learn his positioning and asking a lot of questions. I hope Max and the coaches get him ready. If our guards are ready to make the defensive jump---I am all for picking the other teams up earlier and pressuring more. Go Hoosiers! -
Freshmen To be in Regular Rotation
rebelhoosier848891 replied to KelleyHoosh's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If OG can be ready defensively---that alone will earn him some floor time. We don't really have to have him score this year---but someone who can help defend the 4 may be a real need this year---depending on health (i.e. Hartman) and matchups. OG's athleticism and strong body will be a nightmare for other teams in the years to come. Seems to be a player who will be good for at least one break-a-way steal and dunk per game. Great pick-up by Crean. Sure Glad Iowa did not end up with him! -

Derek Elston - IU Director of Player Development
rebelhoosier848891 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Now this is a hire I can get behind----Elston is an INTENSE Hoosier. He helped bring us back after our doldrums and knows a thing or two about honor, loyalty, leadership, and hard work. From everything I have heard/read about Derek, paying a visit to Mr. Elston's office after a violation of team rules will not be a pleasant occasion. Well done Crean!
