  1. Great pickup.  Now our recruiting class is starting to roll and we can all step away from the ledge.  Welcome aboard Jones---now get to work on Miles!
  2. I hope all goes well for DD. I have always rooted for him and am a fan of his toughness.  But an important part of growing your character is accepting responsibility for your own actions. I am just going to leave it at that and hope he continues to heal from his injuries---including the self-inflicted ones.
  3. Like everyone else I want to see us get some top ranked players too---BUT---there's a lot to like with Newkirk.   First, he brings another veteran who is tough physically and mentally, who will help balance the classes., and is known to be super quick, a good defender, plays with energy, pressures the ball, and anticipates the passing lanes.  After last year, I like that A LOT !   Second, he is a good student. He made the All-ACC Academic Team and achieved ACC Academic Honors (No UNC jokes please!).   Third, he is a good player when healthy.  He was #70 recruit on Scout and #119 on Rivals coming out of high school and scored in double figures 5 times for Pitt.  He has always been strong-- with a killer cross-over and he has been working on his outside shooting. He had a 20 point game against NC State and from what I have read his outside shooting was starting to come along. He averaged 6.4 points per game over the last 10 games of the season while only playing 19.5 minutes per game. Before we write-off his outside shot, please note that he tied Pitt's school record for the most consecutive 3 point shots made by making seven (7) in a row over a space of three games against NC State, Notre Dame, and Clemson. He also hit 2/3 3-pointers against Florida in the NCAA and 3/6 overall against the Gators.  He's a quality recruit from a power conference. A lot to like indeed. .   Welcome to the Hoosiers---Newkirk! Get healthy and wear out that pass card to the practice facility working on that outside shot!
  4. Welcome aboard Grant !  Z3 will be leaving and Crean likes to have a floor-spacing 3-point shooter on the roster.  I like the size and especially like seeing an Indiana shooter filling that roll for a change.  Good start---now let's go get a highly ranked stud to continue the recruiting momentum. No need to panic yet---we have a lot of spots to fill.  Thanks for getting 2016 started GG !
  5. Still proud of our Hoosiers----Hoosiers forever!
  6. How can the NCAA overlook academic fraud that went on for at least 9 years and affected over 3,100 student-athletes?  Sure seems to SCREAM lack of institutional control to me!  No way you will get me to believe anything but that Ole Roy and ALL the sports programs knew exactly what was going on.....there were rumors about this when May was at UNC.
  7.   History does tend to repeat itself!  :dancing:
  8. I am on the fence too.   I love the site but the fact that $$ was not being requested was part of what drew me here to begin with.  But--I am willing to listen to the sales pitch.
  9.   Doubt they would ever go that far.  I haven't followed this closely enough. I thought this started under Poor Roy when he brought the academic guy with him to UNC from Kansas.
  10. Ruh Roh!!!! Interesting that UNC has not released the allegations yet-----sounds serious.
  11. OG Anonuby---I like the sound of that name!  A fitting name for a basketball Jedi---sounds a lot like OB OneKenoby!  (Pardon the spelling)Sorry couldn't resist---I am psyched about the new Star Wars episode that's coming out soon!
  12. So you're basically saying it has to be better---right????
  13. Anyone know when the freshmen are supposed to report? The sooner OG and the guys can get on campus and get in the weight room and start learning D1 defense--the better!   I think OG will get some time---show some sparks in season #1--but will blossom in season #2.   I think Holt will be the big surprise this year---he's had the year to adjust and now knows what big time basketball is about.   This is going to be an exciting year!
  14. Agree HoosierTrav!  OG has always been one of my favorites since we started recruiting him----tall and extremely athletic---and a hard worker----an extremely deadly combination about to be released on other Big Ten teams! Put him on the Oladipo 3 year plan and I believe we will soon have another sleeper turned star.  I honestly believe his location and his team's schedule in the Missouri area kept him from being higher ranked.   I liked what I saw at the Derby Classic.
  15. Wow----never thought college basketball would come to this......Maybe the new team could just play UK or put them in their league.
  16. Cody and Vic have been great ambassadors for IU in the NBA.  Great people.
  17.   Great news! He has improved every year and I hope his development continues!
  18. Now that Yogi is official-----I go with Yogi--JBJ---Troy---Holt---and Bryant.   Can you imagine how great it is going to be to be able to field a team with shot blockers all along the front row?   Now that's what I'm talking about! :ninja:
  19.   This.  I believe in good sportsmanship----but you have to have a few tough guys on every team who will bring that "won't back down" mentality to the team.  Just like with Sheehey----we didn't miss his talent when he left--we missed his toughness and swagger.  I hope TB's warrior mentality rubs off on some other guys like JBJ who I still think has another level to his game to show us.  Go Hoosiers!
  20.   Yes--Yes and more yes!  Good news that will let all of us sleep a little easier!
  21. Yeah Olivia--I may have tweaked the facts a little bit on that one.  All in good fun!   In all seriousness---I hope Cody makes a speedy and full recovery. Even though I still think he left too early for the NBA, I will always remember him as the first big commit who helped turn the program around.  Sure was great winning a big ten title and being ranked number one.  Hope we get back to that next season!
  22. Still no LOI signing????? Come on TB-----we've had such a tough year send that signature in so we can all breathe a little easier and have some good news for a change!   P.S.:  Don't take any calls from Calipari or UK!
  23. On it.   The King-- Codius Zeller the Great-- injured his right shoulder trying to block a thunderous slam from the newest IU/Francais lander Thomas Bryant after weeks of secret training to get Bryant ready for the upcoming IU basketball season.  King Zeller smiled and told reporters he will be fine and that Bryant is ready for the rigors of the Big Ten.  Queen Olivia said King Cody will be back in action soon and noted Zeller is still is better with one hand than most players are with both.  The King will be improving his game by working on his left handed shots until his right shoulder heals.  During his time off while he is healing King Zeller also intends to call IU/Francais Floor General Yogius Ferrelli and take him out for French fries and French toast and convince him to return to team and country and lead IU/Francais land to victories in the upcoming year!  And all the IU/Francais landers said---AMEN!   How's that?
  24. Did he sign?  We will all feel better when he is signed, sealed, and delivered!   That blue team to the south is capable of almost anything!   TB---thank you for embracing the Hoosier tradition and stating today you expect to win a national championship.  We need that kind of leadership and confidence backed up with hard work!
