  1. Goodman - Marquette has parted ways with Steve Wojciechowski.
  2. I'm not going back and trying to catch up so is a 3:00 press conference a confirmed fact? If it is, then it's definitely not Beard. You're not going to make that kind of an announcement while he's in the middle of playing a game and in fact, I don't think he'd be announced until after his TT season had ended. So with the embers glowing red hot for Brad Stevens, my skepticism continues to wane and I'm getting ready
  3. That tweet is now 2 days old and the speed with which the Stevens train is moving makes it very old news.
  4. A longer video of the women's fitness room. Towards the end it looks like they're expected to play games of musical chairs.
  5. NCAA catching a lot of flak and now trying to CYA
  6. No. 15 Indiana in 16th Place After Two Days of Competition The No. 15-ranked Indiana University women's swimming and diving team sits in 16th place with 30 total team points after the first two nights of finals at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. 200 FREESTYLE RELAY The 200 Freestyle Relay team consisting of sophomore Ashley Turak, senior Laurel Eiber, senior Abby Kirkpatrick, and freshman Elizabeth Broshears finished 18th with a time of 1:29.51. Turak hit 22.07 as the leadoff leg for the eighth-fastest relay team in Hoosier history. 1-METER DIVE Freshman Anne Fowler finished sixth overall in the Championship Final of the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 318.65. She topped 50 points on all six of her dives in the final round, including two dives over 55 points. Fowler earned First Team All-America honors for her podium finish. She is the first IU freshman diver to nab first-team honors since Jessica Parratto accomplished the feat in 2015. Freshman Tarrin Gilliland finished 12th overall out of the Consolation Final with a score of 290.50. Gilliland hit five of her six dives over 45 points and registered 50-point dives in each of her first two attempts. She earned Honorable Mention All-America honors for her efforts. PRELIM RESULTS 200 FREESTYLE RELAY 18. Ashley Turak, Laurel Eiber, Abby Kirkpatrick, Elizabeth Broshears – 1:29.51 1-METER DIVE 6. Anne Fowler – 318.65 (First Team All-America) 12. Tarrin Gilliland – 290.50 (Honorable Mention All-America) The 2021 NCAA Championships will continue with Hoosier representation on Friday morning with preliminary action in the 400 IM, 100 Butterfly, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke, and 3-Meter Dive at 10 a.m. ET.
  7. I think many are overlooking this very fact.
  8. Women getting seriously shortchanged in fitness facilities. This video shows the context that the single dumbbell rack in the viral photo is located in a huge, mostly empty room. The NCAA told me they initially didn’t make a weight facility for the women because... they didn’t think the convention center had enough space.
  9. To Siskel and Ebert, please keep it to Brad's imminent arrival in Bloomington. Thanks much.
  10. Pete DiPrimio - https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/3/18/womens-basketball-iu-brings-win-it-all-mentality-to-ncaa-tourney-quest.aspx
  11. He really didn't have the luxury of recruiting the top level talent except for his last year at Butler as it was then a member of the Horizon League. His name and our name should be a huge difference maker.
  12. Might be a personal issue for her, but the 2 schools really aren't rivals in the sense we are with a B1G school so I don't see her as a trustee at Butler and Brad as coach of IU a big deal. Trustees oversee the university as a whole and not simply a bball program.
  13. OK boys, you both have made your positions clear. Time to declare a truce.
  14. I like it because it's much like soccer, ice hockey, etc., in that there are very few breaks in the action
  15. Lots of private dining rooms available and everyone's wearing masks these days so staying unrecognized wouldn't be that terribly difficult. And the staff at these kinds of establishments definitely know how to keep their lips sealed.
  16. I have to admit I enjoy watching the sport even though I have absolutely no idea of the rules and strategies.
  17. Brathwaite Awarded Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year The Big Ten Conference announced their Big Ten Indoor Track & Field season honors on Wednesday night. Rikkoi Brathwaite of Indiana Track & Field was named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year. The last Indiana athlete named Big Ten Athlete of the Year was Sydney Clute (outdoor) and Katherine Receveur (cross country) who earned this accolade in 2017. This is the first time since 2013 that the Hoosier men have seen someone honored as Big Ten Athlete of the Year. Derek Drouin was named the indoor and outdoor athlete of the year in 2013. Brathwaite finished up his junior indoor season at NCAA Indoor Championships this past weekend where he picked up bronze in the 60m with a time of 6.56. He had the second-fastest semifinal time headed into the final. Brathwaite wrapped up his time at the championships by garnering first team All-American accolades. At Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships, Brathwaite ran a personal best 6.55 in the final and was Crowned champion of the 60m. His time was the ninth fastest in the world this year and tied the Big Ten All-Time record. Heading into the postseason, Rikkoi hadn't seen any place other than first in the 60m. He had wins at Simmons-Harvey Invitational, Gladstein Invitational, Hoosier Hills, and the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Invitational.

  19. Friday the 19th- Tennessee Saturday the 20th - USC Probably need a reminder of what your cutoff time is for picks.
  20. Indiana Nabs Four All-America Nods on Night One – Day one of the 2021 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships ended with the No. 15-ranked Indiana Hoosiers earning four All-America accolades on Wednesday night at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. In the lone event of the evening, the Hoosier 800 Freestyle Relay team of senior Josie Grote, junior Noelle Peplowski, senior Abby Kirkpatrick, and senior Laurel Eiber placed 11th overall with a time of 7:02.42. The time ranks as the 10th quickest time in program history. The lead off split of 1:45.43 from Grote marked a career-best time for the Madison, Ind., native. The time moves her into the eighth spot on the all-time performer list in the history of Indiana women's swimming. Each of the four Hoosier swimmers earned Honorable Mention All-America status for their efforts in the race. Indiana sits in 11th in the team standings with 12 total points. FINALS RESULTS 800 FREESTYLE RELAY 11. Josie Grote, Noelle Peplowski, Abby Kirkpatrick, Laurel Eiber – 7:02.42 The 2021 NCAA Championships will continue on Thursday morning with the prelims of the 500 Freestyle, 200 IM, 50 Freestyle, and 1-meter dive. The action gets underway at 10 a.m. ET.
  21. If we're going to throw an obscene amount of $$ at Brad to say yes, we're not going to dictate who will be on his staff.
  22. We may have an AAU season, but still no idea if coaches will be allowed to attend. Nicole Auerbach @NicoleAuerbach The NCAA’s Division I Council met today and had conversations about planning for a return to recruiting when the dead period ends on May 31, but the group did not vote on a specific recruiting calendar/format.
  23. Do we have any first hand accounts of his current mobility? Seems like someone commented that he had to be helped to/from his seat at Hinkle but no idea how old that report was. In some respects I suppose it doesn't matter because that would surely be one of Dolson's top issues to address if he was serious about Matta.
  24. Or like the Stevens to IU rumors.
