    Knight had his problem children and only a small number of the them ever became public.  In that era, doesn't anyone else but me think that the local newspaper be it in Bloomington, Raleigh, Lexington, etc., conveniently omitted reporting all but the most serious player infractions?  Today, there are no secrets and every hint of bad news goes viral in a matter of minutes.

    I am not about to jump into the Indiana vs. non-Indiana recruiting fray but I did read this morning that 247 has Green as the #5 player in the State of New York.  With the number of kids in New York that play basketball being #5 isn't exactly chopped liver.

    On 1/9, McCutcheon (11 - 2) defeated Richmond 66 - 44.  Phinisee scored 18 and from the newspaper account of the game he must have had quite a number of assists as well.  Next Friday night, McCutceon plays at undefeated Logansport.

    New Albany vs. Lexington Dunbar played at Frankfort, KY in the Challenge Cup.  New Albany wins 55 - 47.  Langford with 24 pts., 8 rebounds and 4 blks.

    Just within the last 24 hours, I read that he did but I'll be damned darned if I can remember where I read it.

    From all indications the interest between IU and Gordon has been tepid and I've always viewed Alkins as a really really realy looooonnnnnnnggggg shot.

    McCutcheon defeated Westfield 55 - 35.  Phinisee scored 11 of his game high 17 points in the first half.

    Crown Point lost to Michigan City 58 - 55.  Gelon with 11 points and 1 article gave him 15 rebounds and another 16 rebounds; however, he was only 2 of 12 on his 3's.  Despite a poor shooting night, this is his second game in a row with very good rebounding numbers.

    Lady Hoosiers simply didn't have the firepower against a very good OSU team and lose 97 - 70.  Outrebounded 50 - 36 and 23 - 13 on the offensive glass.  Also turned the ball over 16 times  -- seems to be a common problem for Indiana basketball. Buss - 19 pts., 7 assists Cahill - 17 pts.; 10 rebounds Anderson - 14 pts.; 7 rebounds Walter - 11 pts

    End of the 3rd, IU Ladies down 67 - 55.  Good thing Tyra Buss didn't miss the bus as she has 19 pts. and 7 assists.  Cahill with 13 pts. and 8 rebounds and Anderson with 10 & 5.  OSU is a very good team and they are dominating the glass at both ends.

      Too many second chance buckets for OSU with 11 offensive rebounds.  Cahill with 3 fouls a big concern for the 2nd half.

    Strong 1st quarter by our Ladies against the #5 ranked OSU Doeeyes with the score tied at 18 thanks in part to 4 of 5 on 3's.  Buss with 8 and Walter with 6.
