I think Hayes is every bit the player we thought he was.  Living in Wisconsin, I get to watch the Badgers a lot.  There is a big difference this year from last.  Last year there were three other guys on the Badgers that opposing teams had to watch out for. This year Hayes is really the only one on the team that is a threat.  He gets double teamed almost every time he gets the ball.

One game does not demonstrate a change to me.  If we can go three or four then I will believe it.  Yes the defense was much better last night, but the long term trend is something different.  Sorry to put a drag on an otherwise positive post.  I just am not convinced the state of our defense is any different this morning than it was Tuesday morning.

Overall series not even close, but UW has won 14 of the last 15 games.  Though I think that had more to do with Bo than anything.  We should win this one, but not if we continue to have a turnover every 2nd or third trip down the floor, and a completely porous defense. Should be interesting in my house tonight. My Badger Freshman will be wearing a Badger sweatshirt and his IU candy striped pants!

I think we need a LOT more than Troy to be a great team.  

I mostly agree with you.  I only look at these occasionally. but I do believe there is a pretty strong correlation between the overall rankings and the results.    

Will only be able to watch the first little bit live.  But that should give me enough information as to if I should record it or not.  

That actually kind of sucks.   I know a lot of the rankings are based on number of kids, and our class is going to be smaller than normal, but those rankings are back to the bad old days. The one thing I do like:  most of the kids Wilson is bringing in are at least ranked now.  If I remember correctly we used to only get a handful of ranked kids, and the majority were not.  

Not a fraud fan, but one I could never understand.  I want a change, but I will always root for IU to win every game.  

I don't think Crean is that dumb.  He is still in hot water from all the other off field incidents.  If there was another, and he tried to cover up a suspension with a fake injury it would just get him in even more trouble.

For how many years have we been saying this?  You could tell the first "practice" game of this year that this team was going to struggle with Turnovers and with Defesne.  Nothing changed during the pre-season, so I see no reason to think it will magically change during the B1G season.  Until  we get turnovers and defense under control we will win a little over half our games in the league and eek into the tourney poised for an early exit.    

Just another reason to stay connected here, and to hell with everything else!  :)

Just got back from the game.   I sure hoped for a different result, but it was the first time I was ever able to go to an IU bowl game; (I am 50 BTW!)  I was able to take my Dad (another IU graduate) to his first bowl game.  I got to meet a man I have been chatting online with for 5 years or more.    I wouldn't trade the memories of this weekend for a million dollars.   The thing that killed me on the FG.  The ref that was directly under the upright didn't make the call, it was the ref under the other upright.  That should not have been allowed.   I liked Terry's take that it was special teams that killed us.  Special teams gave them two scores and you aren't going to win many games doing that.  I am really looking forward to next year.

I just printed off my boarding passes for tomorrow morning.  It is starting to sink in that I am actually going to watch IU play in a bowl!

Those Wisconsin fans must not have watched the game last night.  UWGreenBay showed how to beat the Badgers.  Simply put some defensive pressure on them.  At one point Wisconsin was up 30 points.  By the end of the game Green Bay had cut the lead to two or three.   I think Green Bay scored something like 17 points in a row off of turnovers.

Hell, We should all be happy that we can even talk about a Hoosier being drafted in the 1st round.  :)

I am the same way.  I couldn't even watch for two weeks after the Rutgers debacle.

Just another example of how important that extra December practice can be.  Timing wise, I doubt if they make a practice, it is kind of nice to think they could work with the team before spring ball.  Even it is only for a week or two.
