  1. They didn't know either. :). Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  2. Not sure what it looks like I'm TV bit UW is getting all the HOMER calls! It is like when UW was really good. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  3. The fans were shouting tom Get off the floor. Along with a lot of swear words! Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  4. Wow they really don't like Indiana here in Wisconsin. I've got great seats! Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  5. Leaving in 5 minutes for the drive down to Madison. I sure hope we have a better game than last year!
  6. You probably are not that far off.  The good thing is that most people are really coming down hard on the WIAA  for being silly.
  7. In Wisconsin it is wrong.  The state athletic association, has sent out lists of banned cheers that may "hurt" the opposing team's feelings.  :)
  8. That makes at least two of us.  I've got my tickets row 5 behind the IU bench!  After the beat down we got last year, I really want to turn it around and give them a can of Whooop A$$.
  9. Yours was much better than mine.  :)  I like your comparison to the oil worker.  I am glad to see the concussion testing and all that stuff at the MS and HS levels in regrads to athletics,  The problem, as I see it, is that no one really knows how many concussions are to many.  A few years ago I had a niece that played HS soccer.  Sh had to give it up her Senior Year.  After 5 concussions in 4 years, she and her family just decided enough was enough.
  10. +Martin:  I said the same thing.  :)  Maybe not as eloquently....
  11. I don't feel to sorry for the aches and pains a retired athlete has.  They knew all about these going into it, and made the decision that the benefits outweigh the costs.  I do think they have a point in regards to the mental aspects of their retirement.  It has only been in the last couple of years that this issue has come to light.  For anyone entering a sport the last couple of years, though, I equate their issues to smoking.  They know what the risks are, and choose to take that risk.
  12. We didn't even think about a picture.  We caught the one laker after being on the lake for 10 minutes.  7 hours later we had caught nothing else, and were to depressed to think about a picture.   :(
  13. Well the fishing in the boundary waters was pretty slow.  Day one we used snow shoes and walked back about three miles to a lake we knew was safe.  Unfortunately we only caught one little lake trout.  We were going to camp back there for the night, but two of the guys didn't bring the gear to handle teens below zero.  :( Day 2:  We hit a little lake that had been stocked with Rainbows, but we couldn't get any bites though I saw a few on the flasher.   Day 3:  After 3 days where the temperature never got above -10  we did some testing and found the ice was 8 inches thick, so we headed out to one of our normal haunts on Gunflint Lake.  However, there was no action at all.  Didn't even see any on the flasher.
  14. I get back to civilization for the first time in 5 days and this was the first update my phone got. I admit I am surprised. But I also think this shows how Wilson has grown. He stayed with Mallory for a long time and there really wasn't enough improvement for Knorr's second season. I like the move. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  15. I am majorly bummed.  I just found out the ice is even worse where we are going than it is at home.  :( we won't be able to hit our usual spots.   Maybe we are sissies, but when you are in an area with no phones, and no chance for help, it doesn't make any sense to get out on the ice, if you are not 100% sure the ice is safe.
  16. If you really want to try a winter fishing treat.  Head to Oshkosh, Wisconsin the 2nd weekend in February.  That is the weekend sturgeon spearing starts.  I mean what sport starts with Bloody Mary's or your favorite drink before sunrise?  There have been many years we couldn't get off the ice until sunset because we had to sober up.   (The season ends at noon.)
  17. It took living in Wisconsin and Minnesota about 15 years before I was willing to give it a try.  I readily admit to like fishing in the summer better.  However, doing anything to get out of the house in January - March is a welcome relief!
  18. At my home the ice is  pretty bad.  It just started freezing, and then we had 48 hours with temps in the 40's and rain.  I am hoping that when I get back from my trip I'll be able to walk on the water here. Where I am going this week, it is a mixed bag.  The smaller and more shallow lakes have about a foot of ice, but the deep lakes just froze over this past weekend.  Since there is no telephone service for emergencies we will be limited to the shallow lakes.
  19. If it has always been a focus.....  that doesn't say anything good about the coach or the players.  Because they have ignored defense for most of the last two years.  I am happy with what I have seen the last two games, but I am taking my IU Football outlook (optimistic but ready for my heart to be crushed).
  20. In about 48 hours I'll be kicking back in the beautiful BWCA for my annual winter ice fishing/break from technology trip!  I hope we have the same luck we had last year with the lake trout![attachment=3192:IMG_0136.JPG][attachment=3193:IMG_0147.JPG][attachment=3194:IMG_0151.JPG][attachment=3195:IMG_0152.JPG]
  21. I was thinking they would do a two year extension.  I am glad to see the 4 year extension.  He had a pretty rough start, but I think he has done a lot the last few years to really make IU competitive.
  22. So much for the great 1st half.  :(
  23. We just might see Priller during the B1G season.
  24. Not funny at all.  There is nothing negative to talk about.  The team for the first time, this year, against a decent team, is doing everything right.
  25. I think this is the best 1/2 of IU basketball I have seen in years.
