  1. Now that would be playing the long game.
  2. He protected it once. That was enough.
  3. Might he still be growing? I thought DDV was 6’4” and that looks like more than a 4” difference to me.
  4. This is one that from the jump has felt like it would be pretty shocking if it didn’t happen
  5. Yup. Rebounding is technique and want to. And you can mitigate rim protection some by controlling dribble penetration. We’ll see how that goes. I’d be more worried about teams who’ll just play through the post. Purdue, MSU, maybe Illinois. But then you just have to work those matchups on the other end. A kid like Kohler might be able to put 18 and 10 on you, but can Izzo keep him on the floor if he can’t match up and he’s distorting their defense? Would be interesting.
  6. Announcing this Thursday at 12:30 EDT. Finalists are IU, Colorado and Mississippi St.
  7. Chris Lemonis out at Miss St effective immediately. Can’t imagine there’s a good story there.
  8. Ok, this is freaking funny. Dude is owning it.
  9. Andrej Stojakovic to Illinois.
  10. If that number is accurate passing on a kid doesn’t get easier than this.
  11. Why the Pacers are such a great watch.
  12. That that guy has college eligibility left is so far past ridiculous.
  13. Got to see him play in a showcase event in January and I like that kid a good bit. Worth keeping long-term tabs on. Different sort of player, but it’s not hard to see him take a Javon Small sort of path where he starts at a mid-major and by his junior year he’s a pretty popular portal option for power conference schools
  14. https://x.com/JasonAponte2103/status/1895932888505598299 Check out the date of this tweet. No idea who this guy is but massive props. Early candidate for call of the year.
  15. Sales’ reply to the Hicks commitment. That seems kind of good.
  16. A 6’5” rising Junior WR. I’ll take him sight unseen.
  17. Not at all, and yet it kind of feels like that’s where this might be going. Make it tough for team’s to get their defense set and just trying to grind them down with your depth and pace.
  18. I'm not even sure "modern" fully covers it. I've been trying to figure out, aside from just money, how hes's been able to pretty easily get literally 2 deep 1-3 when all 6 of those kids probably entered the portal with starting expectations. Dorn was the capper. I just thought there was no way there because he'd be able to find 25 mins somewhere, but not here. The only thing that makes sense is he's selling these kids on playing hyper-fast. Not even Illinois-level fast, Bama-level fast. I know he talked about 12 sec possessions but, hell, Tony Bennett talked about early clock offense. Yet it sure as $hit looks like he's building a roster to actually do that, which is pretty wild given that he's never done it before. If that's the case and this team's pushing 80 possession games next year, IUBB will be unrecognizable and no team in the B1G would be doing anything like that. Crean at his wild and craziest was nowhere close to that pace of play.
  19. Yup. A depth piece for the National Champions will now be a depth piece in Bloomington. I fail to see how that’s not good. Obviously a different player, but if he’s Anthony Walker in that he can give you useful minutes when he’s needed and a positive locker room presence when he’s not that’s a very nice piece of the puzzle.
  20. Wow, ok, did he actually visit?
  21. Oh, Ozzie Canseco is a strong pull!
  22. Not to hijack young Deuce’s thread, but has there ever been worse genetic luck than Ace Flagg? His twin brother is gonna make a half billion or so in the League while Ace is hawking New England timeshares. Ausar and Amen Thompson they ain’t.
  23. PU’s Brian Waddell to Bellarmine. I assume there’s a story there.
  24. Wow, I would have straight up bet against that one. DDV is rollin’!
