(2026) - Latrell Allmond to OK State
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Allmond from the NBPA camp. Kid has had a very, very good spring. Locking him down early wouldn’t be a bad idea. -
I think she ran into the JHS thing a little bit. There are so many players with broad skill sets but no single elite skill where if they find the exact right opportunity and moment they can establish themselves and if they don’t they don’t. Imagine she’ll get another swing at it.

The favorite is down 1-2 on the road and the League busts out Scott Foster. I don’t care what the prop line will be on SGA’s free throw attempts tonight, but the over is stealing money.

Good for Grace. And there are definitely worse lives to have. Our Niece took a semester abroad in Australia , straight fell in love with the place, transferred there and has no intention of ever leaving.

Rothstein interview with DDV. Nothing new, but offseason we take what we can get. Wish they’d talked a bit about the Puerto Rico trip.

Yes, he is. And I get why people who aren’t hardcore don’t love Brunson and SGA foul hunting or the Celtics shooting a million 3’s, but, man, if someone doesn’t like the Pacers style of play, they just need to admit they don’t actually like basketball.

https://x.com/awfulannouncing/status/1933169442437173460 Valid way of looking at it. So, by Magic’s definition there’ve no more than maybe 20 superstars in the history of the game.

In fairness to Doris on that one, if she’d fleshed that out a little more, “How does a guy that’s 6’2” 190 pounds with no special traits and not a shooter make his into way into the NBA” is actually a really good story. Of course, the answer is having more want to than pretty much anyone ever. Tell ya what, I didn’t like the Pacers in this series even after GM 1, but, man, that Q4 was eye-opening. OKC looked flat worn out. Their pace of play and all those tiered actions they run, Jesus, they’re a straight up meat grinder. They never let you take a breadth.

Outstanding find. Would think that’s a pretty decent approximation other than the greens not being completely shaved.

RIP to Brian Wilson. What a freaking Titan. There are guys who are great and guys who are GREAT. Brian Wilson was the latter.

https://x.com/PGATUOR/status/1932528582556872805 Thoughts? I’m thinking Oakmont from the tips set up for a US Open an 18 is gonna be something like +2 GIR per hole and probably 3.5 putts. So that’s 135 as a starting point. Don’t see any way it’s any better than that and after getting their brains beat out for 7-8 holes it could get a whole lot worse.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45479818/jenny-boucek-extraordinary-basketball-journey-indiana-pacers Terrific article on Pacer Asst Coach Jenny Boucek. Love her. When a team is ready to break that ceiling, I hope they break it with her.

Sly was a bad man back in the day. That Sly and Keith Richards made it to their 80’s with their levels of self-abuse is miraculous.

https://x.com/__1problem/status/1932233774147993981 Is the 15tth an announcement date? Haven’t seen that anywhere but it certainly sounds that way.

Alright, caught a gift. Punch Brothers, who are as good a live act as I’ve ever seen and I would enthusiastically recommend to anyone regardless of genre taste because they’re simply ridiculously talented, are playing in St Louis this weekend. Couldn’t go because of a family commitment that I was just released from. Checked tickets and found a single resale for $35 in a great spot. I’m an owner. So pleased. Punch Brothers and MJ Lenderman on back to back nights. Strong, strong weekend.

(2026) - SF Caleb Holt to Arizona

Playing his senior year at Prolific Prep. 3rd school in 3 years. -
This is a little weird: Apparently, the NBA is giving the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award tonight to Don Nelson. Never heard of it but that’s certainly a good call because Nelson was a pretty good player and hell of a coach. Apparently, it’s being presented an hour before tipoff. So, they drug an 85yo man from Hawaii to OKC to give him an award in an arena that will probably be less than half full? Isn’t that a halftime sort of thing?

Desmond Claude to Washington. Interesting team, but we’ll see how cohesive it is.

Have tried to get into hockey for 10+ years and it just hasn’t come. Our niece and her husband have ridiculously good Blues season tix that I can have whenever I want and I’ve never taken them up on it. Too many basketball games to watch. Now, if they’d just move the NHL season to summer we might be on to something. And, yeah, the summer has racing and nothing else. And when you get excited that Formula E is running this weekend you’ve officially run out of stuff.

The extra off day is pi$$ing me off. There should be a game tonight.
-
Nah, we’re gonna go with what we’ve got and we’ll see how that goes for us. But if it’s any consolation, we did sign Chaz Lanier, but he’s enrolled under the name “Lamar Wilkerson.”

When some Nate Silver, stats to the exclusion of all else, type tries to say that there’s no such thing as clutch, they really need to shut the hell up.
-
Ok, I don’t know if this is actually accurate but I just heard Legler say it and I trust that guy so I’m going with it: In this year’s playoffs, shots taken with under :15 left in the game to tie or take the lead: Every other player in the playoffs 4-27 Haliburton 5-5 To steal from the 2 guys in Tombstone: ”You ever seen anything like that?” ”Hell, I’ve never even heard of anything like that.” Un-freaking-believable.
