  1. Yeah, there are gonna be some matchups that’ll be a problem. But in these 3 games now, with the exception of flat losing a baseline cutter in this game, he’s shown really good awareness and he’s been assignment sound. There was a play in the 1st half where his guy took a handoff and was trying to drive Ristic towards a screen but he read it immediately, I’m sure it was part of the scout, and he quartered the guy and forced him wide of the screen and he was able to climb over it no problem. When he can process and execute like that, and that may take a minute at B1G speed, I think he’ll hold up ok. He’s not JBJ where you just know he’s got no chance.
  2. 5. And 1 thing that makes it a little easier to keep track of him, because Serbia’s guards all kind of look the same, particularly if you’re watching on like an iPad instead of a tv, is that Ristic has bright orange shoelaces that really stand out. Seriously, that sounds really dumb but it helps.
  3. Not sure I’m clear here, are we talking about an actual Bison?
  4. Kayden’s a pleasure to watch. Kid’s a bulldog. Penn St did really well there. And I agree that Dylan’s not a true PG while the other 2 kids definitely are. But Dylan’s said that he thinks he is and whomever’s in on him will recruit him that way for sure.
  5. Looking forward to watching it tonight. France was also undefeated in group, so Serbia wins their group stage.
  6. Per Rothstein, Greg McDermott says he’s going to coach 2-3 more years before handing it off to Alan Huss. I assumed when they made that move with Huss McDermott was doing 1 more year. 3 years would be a pretty long apprenticeship.
  7. Taylor portalled, right? Is baseball NIL enough to possibly top a 2nd round baseball contract?
  8. The big fish would almost certainly be 1 of the PG’s, particularly if they’re now trying to get in on Mingo. 1 of the PG’s, Moody, Allmond and 1 of the 5’s, say Taylor, would be a really nice class. I watched a few of Derkack’s EYBL games while I was watching Jackson and didn’t love him, though I did like him more than Jackson because he was just more aggressive on both ends. If they want him, ok.
  9. Off the top of my head that looks right, though it hurts this old heart to not include Chronister.
  10. https://247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/longformarticle/new-balance-p32-four-star-ponder-a-dominant-force-as-others-play-onto-the-national-radar-251721567/ Bossi with thoughts on Ponder from this weekend. Kind of annoyed because this event was in my backyard and I didn’t know a thing about it. Would have absolutely checked this kid out.
  11. And finished off the event with 35 on 17 shots today according to Rabby. Kid had a monster week.
  12. Ristic played really well today other than just not making shots. Actually better than yesterday. He’s very composed and aware and he just doesn’t make mistakes. Also had the play of the game by straight breaking a kid’s ankles on a crossover and finishing with, swear to God, about a 6’ George Gervin-style finger roll. In this era of floaters I didn’t think anyone still had that one in the bag. Watched it several times. Btw, Slovenia blows. It could have been worse. Their paint defense was so bad that Serbia was just pounding them at the rim. Woody would have been proud.
  13. Pretty clear they’re really invested in the high end 1’s and the high end 5’s. Would think among the 1’s they’re in on Mingo would be by far the hardest one to get. But they’ve got a bunch of money and the keys to the car to give one of them. Someone’s gonna take them up on it.
  14. And 2 steals where kids were trying to throw hit ahead passes over him maybe 5 feet from him and he just went up and caught’em. Athletically, that kid is rare.
  15. Yeah, Mingo’s 1 of those kids who has an offer even if he doesn’t. He can go anywhere.
  16. Really fun EYBL game this afternoon if anyone’s interested. Team Takeover(Prince Alexander Moody, Jordan Smith, Qayden Samuels) against NY Rens. Rens have a 6’10” 250lb post kid named Najai Hines, who the staff has watched but not offered, and he is 1 of the leading shot blockers in the EYBL. Will be really interesting to see how Moody and Smith, who didn’t play yesterday so maybe he’s nicked, as kids who really like to get into the paint attack a rim protector like Hines. Also, they’re 1st and 2nd in their division, so important from a competitive perspective. Been looking forward to this one. https://nikeeyb.com/livestream-session4 3:30EDT on court 2.
  17. Looks like a bunch of athletes….and Tucker. Kid is dad boding it a little bit.
  18. Yup. It’s going to be really, really good to be that kid that weekend.
  19. 1st time I’ve gotten see him actually play the defensive end and he was decent. A little stiff. Change of direction wasn’t great. Awareness was good. Physicality was no problem. I think the biggest issue he’ll have early on is that his handle is a little high and a little loose. You combine that with having just ok burst and I imagine there will be times early on in which the 2 senior PG’s, particularly Conerway, get in and under and pressure his dribble and he’s not really gonna have answers. Imagine he’ll always be kind of a combo guy, but he’s got vision and instincts and he’ll be fine eventually. Side note: If Leo Curtis gets any legit minutes at Nebraska next year that is a bad sign for them. He’s got skill and he played hard, but, man, the B1G game is gonna be crazy fast for him. The other thing is I seriously if he’s ever touched a weight. Ever. He’s both thin and soft-bodied. That is a bad combo.
  20. Rippey’s full visit schedule, per London: UK 8/1-3 MiamI 8/27-29 UNC 8/31-9/2 Bama 9/12-14 Texas 9/19-21 Cuse 9/26-28 IU 10/17-19 Tenn 10/25-26 Don’t love that early isolated UK visit, but if he’s scheduled that many I assume the plan is to take them all. The Adidas schools are, I believe, just IU and Miami.
  21. I almost spit my drink. Fan Duel: We don’t have the heart to take Purdue fans’ money.
  22. Ristic with 11pts and 7assts in a 14pt win over Iceland. Game replay above. Ristic is #5. Former short time IU target Leo Curtis played for Iceland(#9) and had a nice game, though his 1st look of the game was a world class brick. Side note: the gym is interesting. And that was quite a crowd.
  23. 1) Ballo 2) Ponds 3) CMM 4) C'mon 5) Ponds- That kid's just got somethin' 6) Schwarber 7) IUFB Playoff but in most year's any of those could have won. What a freaking year it's been. 8) Lee
  24. There feels like a story here. I’m really curious what it is.
