6 visits in 6 days. Don’t know if I’ve ever heard of that.

Ya know, I get why they want to keep some lid on this stuff. Practices, private scrimmages, sure. And you know someone like Cal would be all over a streaming charge for practices. But public games with actual tickets for sale? C'mon, it's silly not to make that stuff available.

(2025) - C Andrej Acimovic to INDIANA
Demo replied to Hoosierfanyuh's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Need to track down his club teams. Since almost all of the Euroclubs have YouTube pages and FIBA archives pretty much everything finding actual games of his should be pretty straightforward. -

Nope. That’s Lazar Gacic. Played with Ristic in the FIBA U20’s. Know nothing at all about this kid. Something to do tonight. -

(2026) - Latrell Allmond to OK State

Not really sure why, but I feel pretty good against that list. -
Wow, missed that hire completely. Can see the logic but, man, can’t imagine they couldn’t do better than that. He’s not Woody, but he’s not Kevin Young, either.

ESPN continuing their pursuit of being as insubstantial as possible.

IUBB Recruit Rankings

I really wish ESPN wasn’t part of the formula, at least in basketball. They just don’t put the same number of eyes on these kids as the other services, particularly down board kids, and they’re gonna skew some results. Not like it matters in any substantive way but it is annoying. -
KU will be a really interesting job to watch when it comes open. Pre-NIL it was 1 of the big 4 jobs. Now I kind of don’t think so. I’m not sure at this point it’s any better a job than IU, which is really good with a high ceiling but not UK/UNC/Duke. Their fans will be talking about a Oats/Golden/Hurley type and I’m willing to bet it’s gonna be closer to DDV.

Per Ryan McDivitt and a couple of other places, Allmond’s plan is to announce 10/13, which evidently is his birthday. Was hoping for sooner but there ya go. -
Imagine this will be Self’s last year. Legacy is secure. NIL has mitigated some of his advantage. Has had a pretty decent array of health stuff. Has young grand kids. Would be really good on TV. Would be stupid to push the envelope and he’s not a stupid guy.

(2026) - Anthony Thompson to O$U

Down from 15 to 7. Not a super shocking list though I would have assumed Xavier would be a finalist. -
1st one I thought of was Kamara. Would think a pass rusher’s phone would never stop ringing.

2025 Boys AAU Season

Wow, 49% on over 6 attempts per game is, yeah, that is some freaking shot making. -
https://www.on3.com/college/usc-trojans/news/alijah-arenas-injury-update-usc-star-suffers-torn-meniscus-will-potentially-miss-2025-2026-season-per-report/ USC freshman Alijah Arenas suffers a meniscus tear. Given that he was almost certainly going to be a 1 year kid I doubt seriously if he’ll play this year now even if he can.

(2026) - SF Sammy Jackson to VCU
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Nice read. A lot to chew on. Will say this, if Jackson’s dad isn’t exaggerating and VCU outbid everyone else by a country mile, they overpaid. He’s a talented kid, but imho he’s not special. Dollar for dollar I’d take Moody over Jackson without a thought. -

I’ll go to my grave on this: forget years, age is the factor. Give players unlimited eligibility until the day they turn 25 and their eligibility ends that day. No exceptions or cutouts. If they reclass and start at 17, fine give them 8 years. And they get 1 free transfer on their own and another whenever a HC leaves and other than that they sit a year and it counts within their eligibility window. There, just took 150 pages of the NCAA handbook and distilled it down to 5 sentences. And the lawyers around here will tell me why that’s a legal nonstarter, and I’m sure they’re right, but this is such a cluster and the NCAA has to find a way at to simplify this joke they’ve created.
