On shear talent it’s a no brainer, but physically he’s a ways off. Kind of the opposite of Jordan Smith. Smith will be a monster next year in college but his NBA fit is a little funky. Oladotun is probably not physically ready to dominate in college next year but in about 4 years he’s gonna be a stone killer on the wing in the NBA.

Becoming a pretty common part of the bigger showcase events. Last year the Marshall County Hoopfest, the City of Palm Classic and the Quincy Shootout all had the same deal. Flyin’ to the Hoop probably had some pressure to get in because their event directly overlaps the Spalding Hoophall Classic, which is probably the biggest showcase event in the country, and they may have had some trouble drawing the high profile programs.

Correct! This is the easiest money in the history of easy money. Don’t get at all what the rationale would be for not being able to monetize actual games.

I think that’s probably fair. IU’s by far his newest offer. The others have all been on him for a good while. Kid’s never been to Bloomington and has no relationship with DeVries. But his longest and by far closest single relationship is with Johnson and that’s not nothin’. IU can compete money-wise, facility-wise and exposure-wise. If he gets on campus and he and DDV click and he likes what he says of the offense and the students do the students thing and start chanting the kid’s name out of nowhere and then they offer to write him a big check? Wouldn’t bet the house on it but he may well be gettable.

Has always felt like a Cal sort of kid, and I don’t mean that critically, but we shall see. On the plus side, Paul VI is playing in the Bass Tournament of Champions in January and there’s a pretty decent shot Smith plays against Colben Landrew and/or Chase Branham. Those would be must see games.

You clearly need to use your alumni influence to make this happen. And if they’re not on NFHS they need to be because as much as I’d want to see that game, and I really would, I don’t think a St Louis—->Milwaukee trip in like January is in the cards.

Brown’s high school and Dooney Johnson’s high school are all of 10 minutes apart. No way those teams don’t play. Anyone around these parts in the Milwaukee area has an obligation to check that game out and report.

In the pursuit of the low cost and very, very break the glass big, UNC signs High Point transfer Ivan Matlekovic. Kid played in 5 games and scored a total of 13 points and now he’s in Chapel Hill.

Like this kid a fair bit and it’s curious he hasn’t landed at some post-grad program or JC yet.

Also says he has a 7’2” wingspan and a 9’ standing reach which if true probably does make him legitimately 6’10”-6’11”. Side note: haven’t gotten into the kid yet but there is no such thing as a “baby Jokic.” Jokic is singular and calling any kid baby Jokic is idiotic.

Do we have any timetable on Ristic getting to town? Assumed he’d be on the Puerto Rico trip even if he didn’t play much but if anything’s come out I missed it.
