Gino Torretta looks a hundred years old. -
(2027) PG - Chase Branham to INDIANA
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Jan 10th. Already on my calendar -
How many steps did Castillo take on the dunk at the end? Was at least 4. The ref just gave it a never mind. That was hilarious.

The Freeman thing always felt kind of nuts. Replacing the best rim protector in CBB who let them really press out on the arc with a straight non defender, yeesh. Different kind of misfit but seemed kind of like Self going all in on Dickinson.

Does Creighton have a giant NIL problem? How can a basketball school with a great coach in a major conference have a roster this bad? Do they have a bunch of kids hurt?

Rhoades has got to want to walk out into traffic. There was no doubt who was taking that shot, none, and Dilione straight lost him.

Thanks for posting that yesterday. I was debating popping over for the event and never looked at the weather because I always just assume it’s the same as mine the previous day and we got nothing,

Would be pretty surprised if there isn’t a succession plan piece to this as well.

Heismendoza - 2025 HEISMAN WINNER
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Very nice move by Spurrier. And Fernando just redeemed himself by mentioning that Davey O’Brien played in the 1930’s after winning the O’Brien. That’s my boy. -
Heismendoza - 2025 HEISMAN WINNER

Surprises me a little. Would have bet on him being the kid who upon being nominated would have memorized every Heisman winner ever and every other thing. Calhoun: Fernando, what do you plan to do with the award should you win it? Fernando: Well, when Pete Dawkins won the Heisman representing Iowa in 1958 he donated it to the Children’s Hospital next to the Stadium*. I was so moved upon reading that that I’m planning to start a foundation involving all Heisman winners to fight the scourge of…….. * Dawkins did not, in fact, do that. -
(2026) - Jordan Smith to Arkansas
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Maybe slightly curious, maybe not: Watching Smith’s game tonight on ESPN and they’ve now mentioned multiple times that he still lists IU among his 5 finalists. I’ve never thought this one was a thing at any point, still don’t, but now that he’s not committing until spring it’ll be interesting to see if he ends up taking an official. If he does, the one thing we can say for sure given the roster turnover that’s inevitable is none of his other finalists can possibly guarantee him the number of minutes and number of shots that DeVries can. They can pretty much give the kid the keys. If Johnson is as tight with him as you always hear, I suppose stranger things have happened. -
Lamar Wilkerson is a HOOSIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Demo replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Great article. Impossible not to root for kids like Wilkerson and Conerway. What it takes to get from where they started to where they are is just not commonly possessed. Side note: I owe Mark Pope an apology. Blew that guy 10 kinds of crap over the Keeneland thing on Wilkerson’s UK visit. Even if it didn’t work that was clearly a good call. -
Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

https://x.com/daily_hoosier/status/1999166350577598501 Nowakowski on Cig. Such an impressive kid. -
Putting aside the obvious “with cause” scenario at play here, when I heard last week that they paid that outrageous jack for Bryce Underwood and then Moore didn’t bother to then hire a dedicated QB coach for his freshman QB that alone should have been enough to cut his dumb a$$ loose.

Wow, that is a really good field.

Ok, coffee spitting moment of the morning: some ND guy trying to justify their schedule defended playing Navy as a “rivalry game” Dude replied: “Notre Dame-Navy is a rivalry like polar bears and seals.”

(2027) - SG Marcus (MJ) Curry, Jr.
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Ok, he’s not as purely explosive as maybe the most explosive kid I’ve ever watched. Carr is so rare he may actually be unique. But when he fills out it’s no problem seeing Curry as a Terrance Shannon kind of athlete where when he’s coming downhill at someone they have no answer but to foul him. -

Pretty excited about this one. I don’t care what his rating is, that kid’s got stuff you can’t teach. -
https://x.com/RossDellenger/status/1997763809914528210 Surely this isn’t true.
