I admire what they’re doing, I wish my state was this serious. But still disappointing. Of all the kids that IU is in on, Troutman is the one I wanted to watch most. Just feels like somebody might get a Jarrett Culver level steal here.

Wouldn’t know him from Adam, but whenever I checked out HSN Mile was unfailingly gracious to everyone. Losing a truly decent man who also happened to love IU sports before his time diminishes our world just a touch. RIP, Sir.

In the absence of character or chemistry concerns I’m gonna take talent every single time. I think Stewart is a really useful piece and would be happy to have him. But the talent here isn’t comparable.

Okay, probably not so much that. But I am going to introduce myself to Harmon if he's there, and he's been at the games I've gone down for except 1. I've DM'd with him a couple of times and he seems like a genuinely decent dude. I'm sure he'll tell me everything. Okay, that probably not so much, either.

And apparently it also contradicts the pre-game memo for the announcers to notice that Garza hasn’t been good so far. UNC’s army of athletic bigs are playing him better than even.

I’m not seeing this the same way most seem to be, which probably means I’m wrong. The only downside for the Conference in following their rules is if they believe not playing in the Championship game would keep a 5-0 OSU out of the playoff. I think there is a zero chance of that. They’d be putting, most likely, 3 1-loss teams ahead of them. I would bet my house that doesn’t happen. As I see it, they’re already in and finding them another game would just give them 2 more chances to lose. So the Conference can follow their rules and put IU in the Championship, which would allow them to look principled while actually protecting OSU. So what am I missing here?

Wow, it is really tough to see how this team becomes good. They don’t defend at all. They’re soft. No urgency. Not only do they have no on court identity or leadership, but ya can’t even see what kind of team it might evolve into. Maybe Boston and Clarke really take off, but, man, I don’t know.

You might want to do a little more research on what he’s done and who he’s done it against.

Being that demonstrative on court is a new thing, at least to me. In the past, while the kid unfailingly competes his a** off, his demeanor has always been almost stoic. Clearly he’s been challenged to be a more vocal leader, and I’m not sure that comes to him naturally. But, athletically, yeah, he’s just unusual. There aren’t a lot of kids with that tool kit.

I will flat out admit that as recently as early last year I did not think he was the guy. Have always been of the opinion that if you hire someone for a gig and no one else would hire them for a comparable one, and CTA wasn’t getting a power 5 HC job anywhere else, you’re probably the one who’s wrong. Couldn’t be happier to have been wrong. The man is a leader and he has seeded this program with kids that it’s impossible not to be proud of. Hell of a job, Coach.

Those kids reacting to CTA just teared me up a little. Been a minute since that happened.

Mullen is on a career track to be my all time favorite IU football player. Damn, I love that kid.
