2021 General Recruiting Thread
Demo replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
That Howard situation got sideways in a hurry. For different reasons Maker and Eastern were pretty big gambles, though with no real downside, I suppose. But a kid like Mading seems like the sort they had a chance build on. -

Kuluel Mading, who got some run around here a few months back, de-committed from Howard. From what I can recall of looking at him: 6’9”ish, long, built like a stick figure, runs well, explosively quick off the floor, good hands, needs skill development across the board, plays hard and competes, even with strength disadvantages. Will be an interesting late add for a high major, especially as a redshirt. -
When I watch Ian Book, I see Peyton Ramsey. Other than being the ND QB I don’t see why he gets the credit he does.

Bohannon is a pretty diminished player right now. So, yeah, in AH he’ll look like Chevy Chase on the putting green in Caddyshack.

You’ve got that right. I find it curious that Fletcher would be the kid to publicly blow up. He’s from my neck of the woods, have seen him a few times and never thought he was anything but a a solid 3-4 year kid. Was really surprised when Cal offered him. Is he actually allowing kids at Fletcher’s level to believe they’re gonna come in and play from the jump and he’s gonna turn them into pros overnight? Always thought Cal was smarter than that.

Fred Glass goes off on the CFB disrespect of IUFB
Demo replied to iubb's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Yeah, I wouldn't expect Fitzgerald to do anything differently. And he make well think his team is better. But the 2 coaches who actually played both teams, Chryst and Tucker, both had IU comfortably ahead of NW. -
He did. And that’s a really immature team. Langford’s a Sr, but he’s no leader. And Watts and Loyer are trying to replace maybe the best B1G pg of the 21st century. They’ll get it figured out, but this conference is such a meat grinder that they may have a couple of these games.

SLU is really good and Minny is playing really well tonight. Will be a good win either way.

Talked about complete failure to execute the scouting report on defense. Talked about being distracted by their success. At different times called out Hauser, Watts and Henry for lack of effort. Called out Langford for getting a terrible 5th foul. Referenced that he has become softer through the years and that is his failing, though what he clearly meant is that this team doesn’t have on court leaders. Pretty brutal, but spot on.

Izzo’s looks like he’s tearing up in this press conference. But what he’s saying is dead right.

Trying to remember a game when MSU was worse defensively. Couldn’t control dribble penetration. Rotations were late. Crazy undisciplined. Kind of floored by that one. Oh, and these analysts who said they wouldn’t miss Winston because of Rocket Watts? Yeah.

Favorite All-Time Hoosier Basketball Player
Demo replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Easy one, Mike Woodson. Not only did I love what a versatile scorer he was, but he was 1 of the 2 best players, along with Paul Pressey, that I was ever on a floor with. Played in a couple of summer open gyms that he was at when I was in HS and he was at IU. Obviously, he killed everybody. I remember thinking, man is this what it’s like at that level? No, it’s just what it was like at HIS level. He was so good. -
BYU up 15 at the half at SDSU. Picked the wrong 1st game of San Diego St to watch this year. They look like they took the game on a day’s notice. Can’t figure out what they’re trying to attack on offense.

(2022) - Masai Troutman to Northeastern
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I admire what they’re doing, I wish my state was this serious. But still disappointing. Of all the kids that IU is in on, Troutman is the one I wanted to watch most. Just feels like somebody might get a Jarrett Culver level steal here.
