  1. Agree except for the “for sure dominate” part. He’s never dominated at any level and he has major stamina problems.
  2. Since all of these kids they’ve signed have multiple years of eligibility I assume that would have been the plan and, if so, love it. The 1 exception might be Harris if he looked at this as an opportunity to rebuild his market value. But even so, if he has a really nice year you’ve got the first shot to retain him. Man, it would be so cool if after a nice year next year all they lost was, say, Sherrell to the NBA, 1 of the current freshman to the portal and maybe 2 of the crack fillers they haven’t signed yet to graduation and with maybe a 3 man ‘27 class signed you’re only looking at a couple of spots with no glaring, “God, we’ve got to find that” type of needs. Wow, that sounds like an actual program. Or, they may have decided that PG, and Burton specifically, was that important and he was treated differently. We’ll see.
  3. Would be curious if Sherrell’s deal is also 2 years or whether he’s planning to go to the League next year.
  4. Fair point. They haven’t gotten anyone killed that we’ve heard about….yet.
  5. Can’t think of a smarmier pair off the top my head. Not even close, really. And then for the sprinkles on top of that sundae throw in Kim Mulkey, who along with being awful is pretty clearly nuts and they’ve cornered the market on coaches to be ashamed of.
  6. https://www.on3.com/teams/kentucky-wildcats/news/kentucky-mark-pope-meeting-marcio-santos/ Pretty gross if true. The “kid” will turn 24 before the season starts and Maccabi Tel Aviv is an elite program not some Latvian 4th division backwater.
  7. Did you read about that deal? Apparently he signed his NIL commitment paperwork with KU the day before his UK visit and took the visit just to troll them. So, basically, the Dylan Harper/IU move. I’m down with UK being punked as much as the next guy but that kid’s an a$$hole and there’s a reason he’s been at a million schools.
  8. Yeah, watched some of his stuff a couple of days ago. Very good player, and I imagine that given their misses over the last couple of weeks Pope will be writing a money-is-no-object check to that kid.
  9. Watching my 3rd game of Givens right now. Will probably scribble some thoughts tomorrow but 1 thing leapt out immediately, he’s not 6’9”. He played last year with Latrell Allmond, who measured 6’8” at the Adidas Eurocamp last summer, and Givens has at least 2 and maybe even 3 inches on him. So he’s 6’10, 6’11”, anyway. And he can really move and change direction.
  10. Oh God, am I being naive here? Is he actually supposedly good enough to take the PR hit for?
  11. If that’s the case can’t get mad at that one. Clearly prioritized playing time over the best conference and what I’m sure was the best offer for his last year of college. No problem with it.
  12. Probably, hopefully, nothing, but King was originally traded for on draft night by the Pacers when Carr was there. So maybe he’s a fan of the kid.
  13. Wow. If this is true it is so gross because it means UC were willing to sit on it for a mil. But that is some pretty serious hardball. Question: supposedly he’s going into the supplemental draft. Surely no NFL team’s touching him, right?
  14. Petersburg games are on NFHS if I recall correctly. Not that watching NBA playoff games isn’t super fun these days, but I’ll probably hunt a couple of the kid’s games tonight.
  15. Well, ok then. Other than going to the same HS as Latrell Allmond I know nothing at all about this kid.
  16. Been thinking about that since I read it. The only thing I can of is that as a condition for the player being eligible the school has to sign an affidavit swearing that they did not tamper and then should any allegation down the road prove to be true the school is hit with a ginormous penalty of some kind. Really not sure how else it would work.
  17. So, even when the NCAA is about to blindly stumble into finally getting something right they absolutely go out of their way to then F it up.
  18. IU and UMass would have been a pretty high profile fight about 30 years ago.
  19. Cannot stress enough that a blind guy sees it with that kid.
  20. Kid absolutely needs to go elsewhere. The big heads behind the basket could be….problematic.
  21. 247 says he played at Prolific Prep last year. Only saw a couple of their games really early in the year and he either wasn’t with them at that point or wasn’t heathy. Telling ya, watching a 6’10” kid being the hardest playing dude on the floor and clearly loving every minute of it is a sight to see.
