I watched a replay on YouTube and thought I was watching probably the bottom two teams in their respective leagues. Just kidding, but it was mostly ugly. I don't really know anymore about this team than I did before. Other than Rice looks like an upgrade and Ballo is going to be a load for opposing teams. I think as far as the league goes, I think Purdue we look good early because of their continuity, and everyone else will catch up as the season goes on. If things go sideways early, I may have to abandon this board for a while.

I think we are better than MSU and Michigan.

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

As I watch other teams play, I'm not seeing many that we can't compete with/beat. We are a legitimately good, balanced football team. For the first time in a long time we can play on both sides of the ball. I've been watching since the late 50's and this is the best all around team I can remember. -

Maybe I'm misreading the room, but I think CCC loves what is going on in Bloomington right now. He may even be a surprised at where we are. He said that, with the proper support, we can be a championship team right here at Indiana. That would be awesome. -

Watching Michigan v Michigan State I think we win at least one of those and probably both depending on Rourke's status. OSU didn't look unbeatable today. It's not unreasonable to think that we come to the Purdue game undefeated. Maybe I'm delusional or maybe just drinking too much. -
The Most Underrated Winning Players in IUBB History

This is a really good thread. Not many wrong choices. I'm going with Jim Crews because if he didn't tip that missed shot back inbounds, we weren't undefeated that year. I watched it in real time and thought it was incredible. For all the accolades the 76 team gets, the 75 team was better before the May injury. -
If we still had a healthy Rourke at qb, I would feel pretty good about rolling into Columbus undefeated. Now I'm not so sure. Jackson handled the second half against Nebraska very well, but the game was mostly over. And, I don't remember any long drives. I'm not taking anything away from Jackson, I really like him, but Rourke is a different guy.

I didn't know anything about Rourke when we signed him, but he has made a believer out of me. When I watch him, his composure is obvious and he just thinks the game better than anyone we've had, maybe ever. I have faith in our backup, but he's the backup for a reason. The sooner Rourke is back under center, the better as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know much about Cherry other than he was highly regarded coming out of Center Grove. However, throwing him into meaningful minutes would make me very nervous.

He wasn't the best coach, but he was the most entertaining.

I can't remember a 5* recruit being as ignored as Tucker. When I listen to him talk, the confidence and maturity just shine through. Whatever success IU has this season, Tucker will be a big part of it.

I think the combination of this AD and this President can help restore IU athletics. CCC has on multiple occasions singled both of them out as a huge reason he is here. I believe they both want to see IU as an athletic power going forward. Rome wasn't built in a day. Give them some time to get the right people in the right places. CCC was a tremendous start. He is the real deal. What he is doing is sustainable. I believe that the same thing can happen across all of the IU programs. Let's let it play out.

Because we'll give them our playbook and then dare them to stop us. We're just that good!

What is the problem with competing for playing time? I would think that being part of arguably the best IU football team ever, plus the benefits on campus that go with that, would be enough. I don't understand today's kids.
