  1. No one can argue his accomplishments- top 5 coach of all time. There are other things about him that are debatable
  2. In your mind - if IU loses to Iowa tomorrow, is IU 100% in the tourney, 99%, 95%? just trying to avoid me thinking it’s a lock if there is any opening to the contrary - don’t want to be there on Sunday completely schocked
  3. I’m guessing it’s the wooden shoes that is causing that, maybe look at some sketchers or something
  4. In my opinion, we need to have Race, Trayce, Durr, whoever is guarding him, stand him up and then bring GallowY, Phinisee, Geronimo etc over immediately to steal it or have him pick up his dribble. it cannot come slow or half assed, needs to be quick and decisive
  5. You are not wrong. Brunk and TJD did not work for the most part and Race and Trayce does not work for the most part. 1 in 4 out isn’t really possible with them both out there. I think Race has been our 2nd best player this year so it is hard to keep him out of the rotation but sometimes your 5 best players aren’t always your best combination. X was awesome all game, TJD in the second half and Galloway and Geronimo while neither put up huge numbers, we’re just flying around and have us a ton of energy
  6. I will take a 40% chance of victory when you are talking 9 seed vs 1 seed. we played a really poorly strategized game last time, I hope we can make the right adjustments.
  7. I hope we don’t wait until we’re down 17 to make the right substitutions. We are a lot more mobile and well rounded without him
  8. So, does this impact the starting line up and minutes tomorrow? How do we start Stewart tomorrow after seeing what we did with him on the bench?
  9. Being honest, I was pretty disappointed in what I saw from his play. More in like with what I would expect from a top 150 freshman, not a borderline 5*. I think he has plenty of potential to be really good but was pretty poor on defense and just ok on offense. Would love to see him develop under Woodson and make it to the pros. It would go a long way In showing recruits how players progress each year
  10. X played very well against PU but he has to be smarter and more composed down the stretch. He kept us in it but made a poor decision at the end. He wanted the ref to bail him out vs actually making something happen
  11. Very true. People keep saying we can make up a lot of deficiencies in the portal, while true, we could also be on the wrong side of the portal and lose our guys we wanted to return. that’s why I’ve been upset seeing Kopp and Stewart getting so many minutes knowing they aren’t the future and we have younger players like Geronimo that are every bit as good getting scraps.
  12. I agree in that we haven’t had a complete player that can score in many ways in a longtime, maybe Yogi being the last. while Crean’s teams had issues, mainly half court offense and all things defense, he had a ton of really good shooters. Some arrived as good shooters and stayed good, others became good shooters over their career. we really haven’t seen that in 5 years. It’s just crazy we aren’t seeing guys improve year after year
  13. I think we are saying similar things. Of course players work out… I think most have been shocked at how poorly we have shot the ball, not one or two players but collectively as a team over the last 5 years. most have been shocked, or at least used to be when our team would give up big leads to end games and go on crazy losing streaks to end seasons. it’s fair to look at why that might be the case. It’s just a commonality that arrived when he did is all.it’s been 5 years of the same and I hope the school figures out why soon
  14. It’s also about compliance teams working for the team, not against them, fun raising teams, ability for alumna to work with the program and not just the school. Also, it’s not time to panic or believe the staff cannot work out. I think they can but they need to elevate their games too, not just the players and they need the above groups support too
  15. I’ve stated a few times this season, we’ve been pretty lucky with injuries this year. However as you’ve pointed out, it’s not like we’ve been without injury this year - 3 of our guards all went down late in the year. this season has been better than previous seasons iirc but others have been pretty bad injury wise beyond that, it’s the late game and late season collapses. I’m aware some of that is mental, some is physical but we’ve had a lot of different players filter though in the last 5 seasons and this collapse has been pretty routine. is it partially conditioning? Hard to close out games and a season if you are gassed.
  16. What is your rationale for it not being a contributing factor? as stated monthly, we have fallen to pieces at the ends of games and ends of seasons and shooters have regressed all since he’s been here. those were not the norm prior. let me know how it is impossible for those things to be correlated considering he is the one working with players muscles/stamina etc
  17. Sure but we’re seeing similar stuff in Woodsons players. The common denominator over the past 5 years is Cliff
  18. Have more players improved their shooting or regressed in their shooting since Cliff arrived in Bloomington? you can include Yogi too even though he predated Cliff
  19. First of all, Cliff Marshall wasn’t here then. I think muscle and bulk is overated in basketball, but it’s not just about the weight and bulk, it’s about knowing what your doing and knowing your subject matter. there are numerous cases of players adding weight or dropping weight that both helped or hurt their ability to play. Some can gain from it, others it’s a detriment Beyond sheer body mass, there are workouts, weights, duration, repetition, timing etc. That all matters. there is never going to be proof that Cliff has negatively impacted our players and team, just a theory of mine. However, for every player that you can show that improved his shooting since he arrived, I can show you two that regressed. I also find it crazy how we collapse down the stretch almost like clockwork in games and seasons since he’s arrived. players should be improving physically as they go through a season and career at IU and that hasn’t been the norm since he arrived. There are some really alarming consistencies that have developed since he’s been here
  20. It’s what happens when you hire a football trainer to do basketball. Pack on the weight and muscle and our entire team has sucked at shooting since he arrived, performing worse than high school, AAU and schools they transferred from in most cases. also doesn’t bode well that our teams have all taken a giant dump in February ever year - we’re breaking down at the end of each season while our competitors are getting better
  21. Please don’t Cliff. Would love to see what a natural progression of our athletes looks like without the CM program that I believe has messed with every player that has come through since he’s been here
  22. I hope we get some! That would be nice
  23. There are stories of people getting jobs as part of a recruit committing, cannot prove that. What is a fact is that his players were given cash, gift cards, free stuff all the time. Talk to a few of his players and they will tell you that friends of the program made sure they were taken care of. Not talking about suitcases of money, but that they never had a hard time getting their gas or pizza paid for
