In all seriousness, does he get fired?
-
I still think he should be suspended for the season but had it been a player he punched I would call for him to be fired
-
I just watched it too. Was that an assistant coach or a street close player he hit in the face?
-
I didn’t see it but if Howard swung at a kid he should be suspended for the season.
-
Yep, here comes Providence
-
I am kinda surprised he didn’t do better there.

You’re being funny I know but you are correct. If Indiana wanted to push their donors to support the players vs the school I don’t think that would be hard to do, I just don’t see them doing that. if they get a million a year from Ken Nunn, if the school said, hey, can you give us $500k and offer speaking engagements etc for players with your clients for the remaining $500k, I doubt he would say no. -

First of all, I’m sorry, I have a sick toddler that hasn’t allowed me much sleep and I am still stewing about what has transpired. onto our discussion - I am not at all opposed to Woodson suspending those players. What I would have expected there after are a few things: reduced roles for those players until they earn it back. My least favorite player in Stewart has been in my opinion giving very little effort all season on both ends of the floor and continues to play big minutes. On top of that, he has been suspended twice. if woody is trying to enforce his rules and establishing culture, why on earth is Stewart still playing big minutes and not just big minutes, playing more minutes? how? Why? It’s pissing me off reading all of this when there is a giant contradiction surrounding that whole move -

I was quick to agree that it was a dumb move by the players and shows how much they care about this team and season. That’s on them. what doesn’t make sense to me and I haven’t heard a rationale explanation is “why did we return to normalcy thereafter? That was Stewart’s second suspension this season. Why is he playing more minutes now? please, before anyone try’s to make up a case that people are trying to say that it wasn’t the kids fault, why are the adults allowing this to continue? what was the point of that big move, a move that was a second violation for some if they end up getting more PT? I don’t get it -

That’s fine, be done but if you are admitting to the above, then why the bashing of other posters that are saying exactly that? that’s THE argument - Stewart doesn’t play hard yet plays a ton. Stewart gets in trouble but plays a ton. After a while that no longer becomes a Stewart thing, that becomes a coaching and culture thing. it sets a bad tone -

That’s the argument that we are all making that you and others keep missing! If you are going to lay down the law, lay down the f’ing law! Players did not respond to that mass 1 game, season crushing suspension at all. and why should they? It’s back to business as usual, Those players that were in trouble are playing more minutes in some cases than prior and not only getting in trouble off the court but playing terrible, lazy ball on the court. what was the point of the suspension if we allow the inmates to return to running the asylum and then some? when we have culture issues in year 4 we can look back at inconsistencies and poor decisions -

What if we looked at the facts? Parker Stewart is averaging MORE minutes per game since his second suspension than prior. that’s what I’m getting at!!! -

Again, what on earth are you even arguing? Are you at all trying to suggest that Parker Stewart has played with effort this season? he starts regardless. That sets the wrong tone and culture. Go back and watch him and only him on every possession and see if you believe what you are typing -

That literally makes zero sense. it’s the body of work and our body of work was good enough going into that game and has not been since. The players did not respond at all to woody’s laying down the law and have in fact regressed to the point we are headed towards not making the tourney. hard to tell if you are serious sometimes -

Rule numero uno should be effort but that apparently isn’t in the rules. hard to take anything else seriously if effort of all things isnt a mandate -

I agree. I wouldn’t even be opposed to the suspension but it was so strange. What does it matter if guys are in bed early or out late the night before the game if they are just going to show up, start, and then stand around regardless? Over and over and over again? you put forth rules like that to ensure players are able to put forth 100% effort. But effort is optional around here, you start either way. its just incredibly weird. What is the overall point of the rule and the suspension if you are just going to allow players to stand around without repercussions? -

So your solution is to make one off hard stances but allow everything else on the daily? Got it! Consistency matters when you are trying to develop culture, likely the most important factor -

You are all over the place, not sure what you are even arguing at this point. We also played a walk on that game because we had zero subs, by your logic, we shouldn’t have played him either right? Because he has given us exactly zero all season… maybe we should have just played with 3 guys? we missed them because we had no subs. We had nowhere to go. The decision almost guaranteed us the loss in a very needed and winnable game. That’s fine if it works. It didn’t and since that game have been in an absolute spiral. It backfired big time. It sent no message other than we are headed to the NIT -

Yes, in large part because we have two wings that don’t guard and either fouls by reaching or put teammates in crap spots to help -

NO! This “NBA offense” is THE WORST! if this is woodson coaching his arse off we are all in for a heavy dose of hell. He has been as error prone with his subs, minutes, play calling, “system” if you can even call it that. he is every bit as much to blame for the crap we are watching -

It was going to be a tough game sadly, but benching 5 players when you are already down 1 is close to putting a nail in that coffin -

I’ve loved some of your posts but this is soooo talking out of both sides of your mouth. The culture that needs to be installed is player accountability which you are vouching for when it comes curfew violations but yet you have repeatedly called out Stewart for being incredibly lazy on both ends of the court yet starting all season. what is the culture that Woodson is trying to instill? That energy and effort is not only not mandatory, not optional, but in fact, isn’t important.
