I’m not disagreeing with you at all. As you pointed out, it was a bit critical/negative and I think that is ok. -

You have changed your tune quite a bit since you’re first post on here last month -

100% a lot of what you called out is on the staff. Weird and bad decisions that I truly believe cost is the win -

I don’t think it’s a matter of feeling right, it’s a matter of being upset that the glaring issues that were there on day one are still there at the end of the season. I just don’t understand the need for some to have such blind faith and feel the need to rip apart anyone that doesn’t. it’s the inability for many to acknowledge our struggles and to call BS that is mind boggling. Parker Stewart stood around all game, barely moving until he got scratched and then lost a 1x1 battle thereafter. Go back and watch the early games of Parker Stewart and guess what, he stood around all game yet he has continued to play and play and play and play. There has been no development of culture. It’s been talked about but has it been implemented? No. 28 games in and the same players are standing around and being rewarded for playing time. So, when people don’t believe that culture is being built in a good way, there are reasons all around us -

This one was lost by coaching mistakes. each time we got momentum, we had a hockey line change or we called a timeout. how does Galloway sit so much in the second half? How does our staff not know to tell the refs that they cannot review that play? They should have been screaming and yelling. How, after they reviewed forever, did we not put in the right subs? We had to make 1 stop and we put the slowest player on our team on an all-American. Where did we think they were going to go with the game on the line? Then, we call a timeout to draw up a play for the tie and it got blown up immediately and instead of noticing that and calling another timeout, we just let him Chuck it and head back to the locker room with another L. our coaching staff did us zeros favors. We aren’t good enough to overcome that -
That’s part of what some of these people are missing that are poo pooing Durham. he does a little of everything which we lack on this team and that includes leadership. people talk about lack of shooting…. That is too specific. We have a lack of SCORING that is the real issue. Al draws fouls by being aggressive and when he gets to the line he knocks them down. we don’t have that on this team.

X is a crazy man on the court, flailing around, swinging his arms and legs at players, screaming at refs and also leading others off court to make bad decisions. durham on the other hand was a good teammate, level headed, and is the most important player for the #8 team in the country. He almost plays every minute of every game.
-
You realize Al Durham is starting, averaging 14 points per game, playing 35 mpg for a top 10 team in the country right? he is the missing piece for us. He does a little of everything and isn’t bi-polar and a black hole when it comes to setting a good example both on and off the court good riddance right?
-
We lost. Durham and Franklin would have been extremely important for this team but walked away. our fanbase decides to pump the narrative that we got better and that coach Woodson went out and got who he wanted and filled all of our weak spots. it was the prevailing narrative… anyone that said otherwise was chastised.

That Texas has higher standards than IU, not sure what the confusion is. Both coaches were fired for lack of performance, yet Shaka left a much better returning team than did Archie. texas administration expects more from their basketball coaches than we do. They change coaches and are top 20. We change coaches and are already making excuses that our coach needs 3-4 years to turn things around. I hate the excuses

Of course, some teams benefited from the portal, Kentucky and Auburn being two good examples. what I would say about those two is that they both already had some really good pieces and they used the portal to complement those. I know we attempted to do that but it’s been pretty meh, if we are being honest we just have too many gaps to fill for next season

(2022) - PF Kaleb Banks to Tulane

Thank you Demo for the breakdown. I would say that sounds good except it sounds like he needs time with the coaches and the system to pick up some key fundamentals to be able to help on the court. At 6’8” and our projection of having very limited size we will need him to figure things out immediately also, Jeeze guys, let’s hope he is nothing like Jeremy Hollowell. -
I’m finding it very hard to believe we have a shot at being better next year. We need a few guys to make HUGE leaps from this year to next. We just don’t have the pieces coming in next year to make the difference. MAYBE we improve at the PG position but that isn’t guaranteed at all. Easier said than done but we needed several immediate impact players. For those saying we can make up ground in the portal… sure if we land an Oscar T like Kentucky did but those are a needle in a haystack, the majority of transfers are Kopps and XJ’s that we’re average players from bad programs.

Because it is “kinda” the right play but is only effective if done right and with a purpose but detrimental if done otherwise. if you can run off a pick and leave your man in the dust for an easy dunk that’s awesome. I see other teams do that well. unfortunately our players don’t move well and screen well so if they do make a move to the basket it is usually too slow and with a defender right on their hip and clogging the lane

Inserting myself into your back and forth if I may. I don’t blame Woodson for TJD not developing a shot, that doesn’t happen quickly for a guy that has never made any real progress there. What I do blame coach for is everything else around him that is teachable and enforceable. There is no reason that when TJD gets the ball, the other 4 players stand still. There is zero deception and therefore it’s easy to prepare for and easy to defend against. We don’t get as much out of that situation as we should. They bring two defenders to him and yet nobody else is open, that math doesn’t mKe sense
