In another thread I indicated my concern with Woodson was being away from the college game. And at the time, there where other hot name coaches out there. I am good with the hire. I see lots of positives. The next month or so will tell -- who stays and who he gets to come via transfer. He's got two definite spots (open scholarships) and a third with Al graduating. So even if he gets everyone to come back, he can bring in three impact players right away. That would be a good start.

Actually, I think he did, but more in a fundamental basketball way. Something to the effect -- everyone touches the ball, shooters shoot and non-shooters do other things needed to win.

All this talk about uniforms and facilities is just excuses that loser programs make. Just stop. Winning and future opportunities bring in the best players.

That’s just silly. Woodson is a more accomplished coach than Crean and Archie combined. I get that he hasn’t been involved in college and hasn’t recruited, but it’s basketball not rocket science. I think the guy comes with a lot of credibility and recruits would be fools not to at least listen.

Same thing happened to me at a very high academic d3 school. No way I would have made it thru that school. But yes, many academic schools, Mich, Duke, etc have lenient admission requirements. It’s on reason Northwestern struggles, they refuse to do it although Fitzgerald has gotten them to bend.
